Here’s something from Chevron, if you give a rats arse. It’s a couple months old.

Why can’t you just say out loud that “democrats are the reason gas prices in California are so high?” - it’s like you have a spell cast on you, and you’re incapable of doing it. You want to say it, I think, but something is preventing you… what could it be?
Then extrapolate that truth to everything else
In California......yes, democrats are at fault. Nationwide, it's a combo of our government, and the oil producers.

They were telling us decades ago as we watched The Price Is Right and Wheel of Fortune. Among the features of the cars they were giving as prizes,
"... with California emissions!" was always in the perks.
That was not an issue with refineries in CA except in the late 70's when they Alkylate from refineries in LA went by ship to refineries in CA to make unleaded gasoline. Refineries in CA didn't have enough alkylation units.
Gasoline at the pump is a blend of naphtha, isomerate, alkylate and reformate along with ethanol. There is no one component called gasoline

Doesn't help when you force all of your refineries to leave. But people are dumb. People on this board will blame all of the prices on Trump indefinitely even when Iran is done and every other state sees prices plummet except CA and bordering states that also needed gasoline from CA refineries.

Dude the op was specifically about California Do corporations lie. Sure do. That’s not the point. California Politicians did this. A point you obviously missed
You can’t even admit that. Typical

And the state regulated refineries run by Chevron, Valero, etc. out of business. By reducing the choices of suppliers, they have greatly increased the likelihood of supply chain issues.
They can use refined products from anywhere else like they did at the first state to require unleaded which they got from Shell Norco before they had enough blending components

If they're making themselves dependent on boutique CA gasoline, then that's on them.
After a point, once you get far enough away from California, you start to get closer to Texas & the Dakotas.

California currently has the highest gas taxes in the nation, with drivers paying roughly 70.9 to 77.9 cents per gallon in state excise taxes and environmental fees. When including the federal excise tax (18.4 cents) and local sales taxes, total taxes and surcharges at the pump can add up to nearly $1.00 per gallon.

They will get it from overseas and ironically increase their carbon footprint to get fuel to their citizens.

We have an upgraded Techron blend coming out of the Richmond Refinery. Just seen it on our company website.
Posted on 5/21/26 at 4:42 pm to Tigergreg
And you can bet half of that goes into Democrat politicians and far left activists pockets.
