Ooo we are shaking - they have zero leverage
I hope Trump comes out with 500% tarrifs and threatens military action if they keep this up. We have some Moabs that would look nice over bejing

China continues to push themselves further out of relevance.

I think as long as there is no real full scale war, or another terrible virus imparted to mankind, there is no way China can survive this without sort of bending the knee. But what do I know?

Again, it all depends on whom you believe.

Some might say, “Not much.”

China's only leverage is invasion of Taiwan and disrupting semiconductor production for consumer goods. That might be the only thing that unites their country behind leadership when people start going hungry. And it's sort of obvious that Trump is driving a wedge between China and their most powerful allies right now.
If this continues, China won't really be able to afford an expensive war. They'd have to invade quickly before anyone can react.
Our media struggles to get this right (because China is less than honest about their own issues), but their total debt to GDP ratio is almost never reported properly. It's catastrophic.
Some perspective: The US is about 122% debt to GDP and we are attempting to cut costs. We are feeling the pinch of this. We also have the benefit of being the world's reserve currency.
Our media only reports China's provided national debt of around 60% debt to GDP ratio...... but China is frequently very dishonest about this since they exclude the massive provincial debt that their local and regional governments incur to develop and expand their cities (remember how property is owned and managed in China). Including their state owned companies, all of their provinces, and their national debt - China is estimated to be 300+% debt to GDP ratio. They don't collect too many taxes, but the Chinese government is particularly exposed to a real estate crisis.
That debt to GDP ratio huge, but they are fine so long as their GDP continues to grow rapidly. Trump didn't just threaten that. He just cut them off at their knees and they are going to get desperate.
China doesn't have many levers to pull. They have to act fast. Don't be shocked if they stage some kind of bullshite anti-American event to unite their people. They may even elect to invade Taiwan very soon.

China fricked itself releasing COVID. All the supply chains started to shift after China threatened to shut off supplies to the US. They could have blackmailed us before but not now. Their leverage is gone.

Well, maybe we address the Chinese dark fleet long lining the Gulf of America (Mexico)?
US CG needs some work?

China is the manufacturing center of the world.
They get to call the shots

I don't think you understand how this actually works.
They are EXTRA frickED right now. Grandstanding and bluffing is about all they have left.

Like I told my first girlfriend. You ain't the only one in town that can do that.
They are in a much more vulnerable position than the US and most western countries. They must continue their rapid pace of GDP growth to handle their sovereign debt. This is a country whose government owns all the real estate, owns most of the means of production, and has spent a fortune to expand and develop in the last 30 years.

At this point, considering everything Trump has overcome, I'll believe in Trump and in America.
But, to each his own.
Seems to be quite the fad lately to be a weak arse bitch and cry and whine when things get tough. Ya know, like a female.

Your post was directed at me. If that’s what you intended, please point out where I bitched, cried, or whined.

Then there’s the fact that their demographics are about to run them off of a cliff when they no longer have the younger population numbers to keep manufacturing at current levels.

Who are they going to sell their products too, the US is 50%+ of their consumer? China currently has 100's of cargo ships sitting in the water with NO ONE to take there products!
