It was a big thing to have segregated proms and graduations at public schools in the south even after integration. One school in Charleston, ms had a segregated prom into the 2000s there was a documentary about it.

Each individual school and college at a university having it's own graduation ceremony is old hat.

The point is that the College of Engineering isn't segregating their engineering graduates by the color of their skin and sexual orientation.

UGA does the same crap. Although I have to admit, this is the first time I've heard of ceremonies for Natives, Asians, and graduates from low-income families (WTF?)
