Dire wolf cloning — let’s clone a gay & see if it’s Nature or Nurture

Ethics aside for this absolutely simplistic hypothetical.
Clone a gay & raise in a controlled environment — nuclear family, loving, supportive, good education…or whatever situation is polar opposite of the original.
Still gay?
Don’t know, but we could know, couldn’t we? Should we?
Biological determinism vs Cultural imprinting.

That cut down to the white meat. Someone call a medic.

I do believe that homosexuality is a mental illness on the same spectrum as transgenderism. Whether someone can be born with mental illness is another question. So cloning might not sort that out.

No need to waste the money. Based on your criteria, already provable with siblings who had the same loving family, same support, same education

I don’t know, I know one dude from growing up, and we pretty much knew he was a future flamer since kindergarten, and we were right. Maybe some learn it and some are predisposed?

The closet cases in this thread lol

Maybe they were all gay at the end and that’s why they went extinct.

We already have human clones raised in controlled environments - they are called identical twins and they are frequently studied for the nature v. nurture topic.
IIRC, identical twin sexual preference showed a strong but not complete correlation - ie, if one identical twin was gay then there was a 50% chance the other was, meaning that genetics play a role but are not determinative.

I'll say this...
In my 15 years of selling life and health insurance, I have NEVER come across gay customer who did not have depression and/or anxiety. The lesbian customers NEARLY always have diabetes to go along with their depression and anxiety as well.
I'm not saying all people with mental illness are gay but I am saying that from my own professional and personal experiences (family members and acquaintances) with gay people, they all have mental illnesses.
It's astonishing how it's become such an accurate prediction that the customer will have depression and/or anxiety when I find out they're gay.

Even if this example was "genetic" it's a very small fraction of the gay community as a whole. Daddy issues, molested young, etc majority are guided in that direction somehow. Adding... definitely not enough to destroy historic norms like marriage
Jason Whitlock has an interesting h take on how San Fran became so gay. Back during the golf rush the city was majority men, so kind of like the jail affect. So if that's the case, the SFs gayness wasn't genetic.
