Donald Trump Story (Pedophile related) UPDATED: Player identified.

My sister has a good friend who grew up on Long Island and had an interesting run in with Donald Trump in the early 90s.
My sister's friend was 16 years old and went to a Yankees game and sat behind the dugout. One of the Yankee players noticed her and had his phone # delivered to her. She called him and they went out on a date. The player started showering her with gifts and did the same with her family. When she was 17, he invited her to come live with him at his apartment in Trump Tower. She had second thoughts, and wanted to go home, but felt trapped because she was afraid of what the player would do - by that time, he had started to physically abuse her. She also thought that is what everyone else wanted her to do, including her own family. She was on the verge of committing suicide.
One evening, the player and the 17 year-old had dinner with Donald Trump and Marla Maples. By this time, the girl wanted out, but she didn't know how to do it. Everyone she knew wanted her to stay in New York and be and live the live of the rich and famous. Donald Trump recognized the situation and when the player went to the bathroom, he asked her what she was doing with this guy, who was ten years her senior. He gave her his card and told her that if she ever needed any help, to give him a call.
A couple of weeks later, she called him, and was surprised that the call went straight through to him. He counseled her, and had his lawyer get in touch with her to arrange for her to go home and warn the player not to do anything to prevent that from happening. He arranged for counseling with her family to help her reconnect with them (she was afraid she had let them down).
Today, she helps counsel other young women who are in abusive relationships and she credits Donald Trump with saving her live, because she believes that she could not have removed herself from that situation without his help.
My sister first told me this story about 15 years ago - long before Donald Trump even considered running, so I thought it was just a cool story about a rich celebrity. Now I see how this ties in with the current child trafficking and pedophilia stories in the news, today. It validates that he has always had a dislike for people who take advantage of young girls.
ETA: The player is Mel Hall and the story is mentioned told in the link below. Her name in the story is Jennifer Diaz, although that is not her real name. This article appeared in SBNation, although I was unaware of it. It outlined his indiscretions, but didn't tell the story of how Donald Trump helped her extricate herself from the situation.

quote:Jeffrey Epstein: International Moneyman of Mystery
It validates that he has always had a dislike for people who take advantage of young girls.
quote:
“I’ve known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy,” Trump booms from a speakerphone. “He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it – Jeffrey enjoys his social life.”

Who was the Yankee?
I don't know. My sister's friend may not have told her, or my sister (who is not a baseball fan) may not have remembered. It was in the early 90's and the player lived in Trump Tower. That's all the information I have.

Jim Abbott, he was rude though, would never hold the door
ETA: Yankees Roster 1992 lol if someone wants to comb through, check the first four years of the 90s and sort by age narrowed between 26-29

That's a shame. I would like to have known who it was.

You do realize its possible hes just saying this to appease the moment and has no intentions of publicly rocking the boat.
That quote doesnt mean he was complicit or in agreement with any form of pedophilia.

I guess that's why he eventually kicked him out of Mar-a-lago...

quote:Why are you assuming trump was referring to apstein's underage trafficking ring? Furthermore, why are you assuming trump even knew about it when he said this quote in 2002?

Please look up trump's relation to epstein. Even fusion gps couldn't find a deep connection outside of public social interactions.
quote:
Journalist sources told The Washington Times that Fusion founder Glenn Simpson pushed the idea of a close relationship between Mr. Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, who pleaded guilty in 2008 to soliciting sex from an underage girl.
The Trump-Epstein link appears purely social, far short of Mr. Clinton’s 20-plus plane rides on Epstein’s “Lolita Express” private jet around the globe in the early 2000s.

The quote you think is a bombshell is not evidence of anything. Young women could refer to someone in their 20s and 30s, not a teenager.

The fact that he even said, "many of them are on the younger side", hints to the fact that he thought that Epstein might be crossing the line. He probably couldn't prove it, but I can't see why he would even mention it other than to let people know that Epstein might be preying on younger women.

quote:Donald Trump on witness list for civil case involving billionaire paedophile Jeffrey Epstein
Even fusion gps couldn't find a deep connection outside of public social interactions.
quote:Maybe the affidavit is wrong, and in must be, because only the pro-Trump random story from the anonymous poster that can never he verified can be true.
“Epstein’s phone directory from his computer contains 14 phone numbers for Donald Trump, including emergency numbers, car numbers, and numbers to Trump’s security guard and houseman,” the affidavit reportedly claims.

quote:The quote was from 2002, years before any sort of legal action. Trump BANNED epstein from his properties after he found out he was hitting on one of his underage pool girls.
I don’t think he was involved in it, but praising a guy who traffics young girls, and even noting his affinity for younger girls, is a far cry from:
There is no evidence trump was referencing underage girls when he said "younger women"
Did you know that in 2010, AFTER he was jailed in 2008 for similar charges, he threw a party that was attended by george stephanopolous, katie couric, and chelsea handler? Trump had cut off all connections with epstein in 2010.

quote:Well they already sucked anyways so this is just further confirmation. I doubt any of them, including Trump, was aware of exactly what he was doing, but I’m not sure any of them, including Trump, really cared to open their eyes to it.
george stephanopolous, katie couric, and chelsea handler?
And shouldn’t we be frustrated that Trump appointed the attorney who gave Epstein “the deal of a lifetime” as the Secretary of Labor?

To add more detail to the story, she was sitting behind the dugout with a group of friends. I believe they were flirting with some of the players in the dugout, if I recall. The player in question had one of the dugout attendants take his phone number up to her.

Epstein testified that he’d only met Trump once and it was when he gave Trump a flight home from FL to NY.
We’ll see what happens.
