would assume 7.62X39 since they listed it seperately.

Old school US and Soviet Bloc rounds.

7.62 is just 308. It's the NATO designation for it.

7.62x51 is not the same as 7.62x39.

This is why the courts need to give the President deference in the enforcement of the Alien-Enemies Act.

7.62? Sounds like a round only Putin would use for his army.

What round do you think our M240B uses?

Do you think it more likely a Mexican has an M250b or an AK?

Just saying, it’s not out of the realm of possibility for one to have 7.62 in the U.S.

And it’s M240B

Ak-47 round. Why is that not in the headline!

7.62x39mm:
This round is often associated with the AK-47 and other Kalashnikov-type rifles, as well as the SKS rifle. It's a high-performance intermediate-range round popular in many military and civilian applications.
7.62x51mm NATO (.308 Winchester):
This is a high-powered rifle cartridge used in NATO countries, including the United States, and also in various civilian bolt-action and semi-automatic rifles. It's known for its accuracy and effectiveness at longer ranges.

Do foreign nationals have the right to own firearms and ammunition?
I'm guessing if they are here illegally, they do not.

They had non immigrant visas, so no they do not have the right. Second, they would need a valid ID to buy ammo. Third, anyone buying 100K of ammo would certainly be suspicious and should have been reported to the feds.

Makes one wonder if this was a sting operation and some local cops accidently screwed it up by pulling the guys over before they took it back to the honey hole the feds were baiting.

Weaker than 7.62 nato.

Is ammo inherently dangerous?

It's the metric conversion of .308. Standard US and NATO round.

7.62 x 39
7.62 x 51 (same as .308)

Two different rounds.

This will be used to illustrate how our "lax" gun laws supply the cartels with guns and ammo.

Probably multiple buyers over a period of time through different suppliers to not arouse suspicions
