Eliminating the income tax (55% of MS in favor) - doesnt pass

School choice (72% of MS in favor) - doesn't pass

Mobile Sports Betting (78% of MS in favor) - doesnt pass

Protecting Girls Sports (90% of MS in favor) - doesnt pass

Instead they are going to expand Medicaid (20% of MS in favor when they know everything).

Worthless. All of them.

What does knowing everything entail here?

Historically, that tends to mean you get subsidized by the feds for the first 1-3 years then you are permanently on the hook for high costs.

Some of the polls asked the question that led people to believe that Medicaid expansion would not cost MS taxpayers a dime. That obviously got more support.

The truth is, after three years, it will cost MS a lot.

Yep - totally ignore the voters. Do everything in their interest as they were paid off to do.

Is there still a time limit to it? I know there used to be, but I thought just after Covid it went from 100% fed subsidizing of expansion to 90%, but never dropped below that?

A lesson learned by Louisiana.

And BTW it did nothing for healthcare outcomes.

More people having having access to affordable medical care doesn't help at all? That sounds difficult to believe

Party affiliation is of marginal meaning when it comes to most state legislatures. It’s a lot of window dressing, more than anything.

I’m waiting to see when they start talking about “ we need to borrow your retirement to pay for…..” it’s been whispered.

For it to help you actually have to use it. Which means scheduling appointments, which can be hard to come by in a rural state like MS. It means being able to take time off of work - and have transportation - to those appointments.

It's much "easier" to call 911 at 1 am for a stuffed nose. especially when that has been part of your culture for decades.
