A seismic shift is underway in Canada’s business landscape as President Trump’s tariffs drive companies south of the border.

According to a new KPMG survey, nearly half of Canadian businesses (48%) are actively planning to move production or investments to the United States to stay competitive, while 60% are exploring acquisitions in the U.S. market.
Recognizing the writing on the wall, an overwhelming 65% of Canadian businesses took proactive measures before President Trump even stepped into office.

I know it's not the easiest to just up and move, but frankly i'm surprised people having fled Canada already considering the commie tyrant that's been running that country in to the ground.

The minute they froze trucker bank accounts, 100% should have been "expanding" to the US.

100% agree but at that time there technically wasn't a true reason like tariffs to move production. Now the production makes logical sense to move it here so they can make more money as well as no threat of Canada's govt from freezing them as easily.

The only reason companies moved production to Canada was because it was cheaper to make "American" products in Canada and then easily ship it here (especially autos). That has changed over the last few years and Canada has lost business to other places (like Mexico) because it's still dirt cheap in other countries and Canada hasn't bee competitive. Throw a tariff on all the stuff and now it doesn't make any sense to continue to produce "American" products in Canada.

GM originally built cars in Canada due to Canadian tariffs.
In the 60s tariffs were eliminated on cars and parts which saw additional auto production in southern Ontario.

Yes, this is known - we won that trade war already yesterday.
That was fast - Canadian Food companies moving operations to US
The winning is coming too fast for everyone to keep up.
