Not sure how it became socially acceptable to openly discriminate against anyone based on sex and race, but here we are.
Sure, we've had preferential hiring and promotions in efforts to achieve diversity metrics, but these were quietly done and we didn't state that was what were doing from the outset. It maintained a facade of objectivity and meritocracy.
