What’s going on there? Kitco app shows Rhodium down $3500/ounce overnight from $4400/ounce to $933/ounce.

Drug precursors

Rhodium is used in asymmetric hydrogenation to form drug precursors.

I wonder how much our esteemed elected representatives and their families made on this stuff when the prices shot up to over $25K per ounce from below $5K per ounce in 2020/2021? As of this moment, it’s sitting below $1K.

Also…mined almost exclusively in South Africa. Go figure.

Rhodium along with platinum is used in the production of nitric acid as a catalyst.

Not sure what would make it move in price THAT much.

The only place I am seeing that is Kitco. Everyone else still has it around $4600.

The London Medal Exchange and the Chicago Mercantile are both closed for Christmas. There is no way it could swing that much.

I hear it’s because the name is being changed from Rhodium to Zimbabwium
