It's the holiest week on the Christian calendar. It's also a gigantic Jewish holiday in Passover.

Holy Thursday. Good Friday. Easter Vigil. Easter Sunday.

Yet virtually almost no workplacea or government offices even observe any of these anymore and instead of spending time with our families and in church, we a re at work and don't even get an extra day off after the weekend. It alike Easter just comes and goes in about 48 hrs.

We play baseball and basketball games on these days.
What an absolute shame how we treat this week in the US.

Yes, absolutely. It's the most important holiday for this country.

The Monday after Easter Sunday should be a national holiday.

I never really understood why Easter wasn’t more celebrated than Christmas.

I was surprised to see our mail delivered on Good Friday. However, banks, state/local/parish governments, and schools close on that day.

To be fair, most businesses only close for a day or two for Christmas.

That’s fair

But everyone gets born. It’s a lot harder to return from the dead.

Would be nice, but that ship has sailed. This is something that needed to be done 75-100 yrs ago. If this is pushed now the weak Christians will end up signing off on done kind of moslim cult and hindu idol holiday as federal.

Christmas Day isn't actually when Jesus was born. This was primarily selected because multiple religions celebrate around this date and Christmas has become more of a cultural thing over time.

Easter is on a Sunday and moves around every year, and all federal holidays are based on a date or based on a day of a part of the month.

That and there are many other religions in the U.S., so that would probably piss a substantial amount of the country off if the federal government decided to make it a federal holiday for one group but not others.

Unpopular opinion here, I know. But those are the big reasons why it's not a federal holiday.

I've always thought the same. If the ressurection doesn't happen, he's just another dude.
