on what recent issues has the court leaned conservative?

Let me rephrase.
We are about to have a decisively conservative SC.
I'm assuming ACB is another conservative and will soon be on the bench.

That's a bizarre metric. If it's the correct decision I'd like to see 9-0.

seeing the end of the democratic party as we know it, I would say its already gone. Trump basically killed the republican party as well, we're just pretending it exists.

The best outcome for the country would be a schism of both parties along governmental and social values.

1. Govt conservative Social Liberal (akin to libertarianism)
2. Govt conservative Social Conservative (94 Contract with America)
3. Govt Liberal Social Liberal (Harris, Berniebros)
4. Govt Liberal Social Conservative (Bushes, RINOs)

End the uniparty.

Even Washington knew 2 party system would be hell on America.

Not when one of them is Roberts. 5-4 good, 6-3 great.

Not to mention this doesn’t just flip the court it basically entrenches a conservative court . There will likely be no flips for more liberal position. I thinknin General that’s a bad thing. 5-4 is good. 6-3 is just partisan.

I want the court to be 9-0 in favor of the actual text of laws that have been passed. Every time.

Congress is where laws should be changed. Not the court.

Conveniently for Obama, Justice Scalia 'suddenly' took care of that minor detail.

But then Trump happened.

Why would there be a need for a court then?

The second that happens Puerto Rico and DC will be added as states and the number of justices will be expanded. That is going to happen.

This will never happen.

Adding those two as states requires amending the Constitution, something that has happened 28 times in nearly 250 years. Besides, I believe there is a clause included in the creation of the District of Columbia that precludes it from ever becoming eligible for statehood.

In a perfect system there wouldn’t need to be or the need would be even more rare. Unfortunately one side has a habit of producing activists judges.

I have Found Thomas is the only true textualist.

Even Scalia will make shite up and do mental gymnastics to decide the way he wants.

See Gonzales v. Raich.

We like to gloss over that with a 9-0 conservative court states would likely still be able to make Sodomy illegal. shite Louisiana was still running sodomy stings a few years ago.

D.C. yes, Puerto Rico no (unless you want to explain why the Constitution wasn't amended the other times territories were granted statehood)

On Nov. 4th Trump should announce he is increasing SCOTUS to 13 judges. If Repubs take back the House they should pass a law mandating 13 justices. Sit back and watch!

Well it says they shall hold their offices in good behavior.

Does that dictate that their office continue to exist? Idk. I think There is wiggle room

Now a Supreme Court with 4 justices about to lose a seat might be hard to convince
