Why would one go back and I doubt they make good on a deliberate action.

It depends on the company and what your employment agreement is. I'd recommend getting as much in writing as possible. Companies are sloppy over this right now and if you can't get a job back, having documentation will help a lot if you want to explore legal options.

Pensions are a good reason. That's probably why many people got the shot. They can find another job, but they can't recreate that pension...

Why would anyone return to a job that terminated them because of their vaccination status?

ETA: Pensions are no where near a good enough reason, in my opinion.

If they did hire you back, you can bet your arse that you lose tenure with regard to your retirement etc.

You'll start from zero like a new hire. Like someone else stated, and even if it's on your exit interview, try to get a statement on the books and/or something pertaining to rehire if the mandate is lifted.

If you sue for wrongful termination and win, the business or agency is responsible for paying the difference between what you made and what you should have made, including both sides of your pension contributions.

Hence why the government doing this bullshite is stupid as hell because you know these idiots aren’t going to follow procedure to do this. People will appeal and win then these idiots will plead poverty over the costs of their policies.

Who the hell gets a pension these days? Pretty much government jobs only and some union jobs.

Pensions are a thing of history really.

Yep.

Civil service and unions have pensions. Most other employers who had pensions over a 401K, like Sears, have gone bust over the legacy costs involved.

And most people who would be drawing pensions from a lot of these places have already retired.

In many companies, the difference between new hire and 5 years is a full week of PTO.

If a company decided that I was incapable of making health decisions for myself, why on Earth would I decide to return to them in the future. It's on them to replace me. I'm not about to help them.

My company is a federal contractor so they are forced. I get that. Submitting my exemption request today. If they don't accept it and I force them to fire me, I will never go back. Prayers please. I don't want to do ANY of this.

Stick around the board. There are bound to be posters who can get you in front of the right folks if it comes to it.

In the military, making it to 20 years is a lot more than 1 week PTO.

Many companies allow you to bridge previous service, if you are a rehire.

Hang in there. I'm a federal employee and husband works for a large defense contractor. Pretty scary to think of going from double income to none. But we will not submit to this craziness. We both have over 10 years at our jobs. Turned in his exemption yesterday & hope for the best. My organization is still telling us they've not received official guidance yet on how we are to file for an exemption. And so I wait.

Same. I’m the sole support for my family. My mom died after getting the Pfizer and i’ve already had COVID. I was always for vaccines, but this shite is just too much.

I am adamantly against vaccine mandates but why would you do this? Are people that are throwing their careers away really that scared of future side effects from the vaccine?

Silly statement. Pensions are a damn good reason for older folks in their 50's with 30+ years service. I'm looking at 5 to 6K a month in pension plus my healthy 401K and SS. At 62 i'm calling it quits and I want my pension. I got the vaccine because of a health reason long before any mandate was acted on (in March 2021) so its a non issue for me anyways but I think the statement is false.

I think an extra 60 to 70K a year in income in retirement is a damn good reason.

No they forfeited the privilege of working. They must be punished for the rest of their lives.
