Android Alternative to Airtag?

About to start traveling a lot over the next few months with a checked bag of skis and with a few connections it'd be nice to be able to track my luggage in case it gets lost. I've heard of people using Air tags, however it looks like that's only for Apple devices. Is there a good android equivalent?

Pretty good reviews, thanks

Just bought 2 four packs for $100. I’ll report back on how they work on the dogs next time they escape.

How far do these work? I assume no gps type stuff going on?

I’ve had Tile and AirTags. AirTags are a little better since it uses any iPhone to track. With tile there has to be another tile user close to your device for it to work.

They work by connecting to any phone that has the tile app or life360 installed. They have a range of a couple hundred feet. So any time a phone with the apps installed is in range it updates the location in your app.
I haven't used them since Life360 bought them a year or two ago, but they worked well for me and now you can track them on the Life360 map which is an improvement.

It won't work very well unless the dogs remain within earshot. They are low-range and work on a peer-peer basis.
Like Airtags they provide tracking by proxy of being close to a cellphone that has certain software installed.
To track your dogs it would need to connect to something at longer range, such as GPS. There are a few products out there, but it doesn't seem like there is anyone really dominating that market.
Here's a link to Life360's Jiobit Smart Tags, which seem to be decent.

They won't work at all, you don't understand how airtags work methinks.
Android is too disjointed to have something comparable.

I agree. they should work fine for luggage like the OP wants them for, but I don't think they would work great for pets unless you are in a high population area. May be ok in a dense suburb, but animals move too fast so it is likely only going to get you in the general area.
I am interested to hear back.
