Is it as simple as putting in a new SIM Card with your carrier?

What do you do with your current phone?

I have an iPhone 12. Like the phone, but it does not have enough capacity (64GB) and think the camera could do better in low light situations. Not interested in their "deals" where a new iPhone 16 might cost $700-$800 and they give me a $100 trade in.

Have T-Mobile.

Thanks!!

yes, assuming the phone has bands compatible with your carrier. Some international models may not have the right compatibility, which could leave you without certain bands or 5G altogether.

Yup. I buy unlocked all the time. One of the benefits.

Every phone I gotten is a refurb unlocked. Had no issies. Can usually trade in old or as stated other ways to sale. I also stay 2 yr behind on latest and greatest but thats my choice.

Are you trying to get an international phone, or just unlocked. If it's a US unlocked phone then it's an eSIM. Some international models use physical SIMs and some use a combo.

The only issue I have run into buying international unlocked phones is that some of the cellular frequency bands they use are different than the ones we use.

No matter what phone you use, make sure you buy from a reputable place because some phones can be blacklisted by the IMEI and the phone would be worthless. You can normally check on the carrier site to see if the IMEI is active and can work on their network.

I am looking at getting a refurbed Iphone as well.

Was going to ask about Gazelle so hopefully someone can chime in on good sites to buy.

Even looking at ATT's refurbed.... as I am a current customer

Swappa. bought a Pixel 7 Pro in mint condition off Swappa. Was just as advertised. Sold my Galaxy 24Ultra on Swappa after using it only three months. Very reputable.

Only if it is iPhone 13 or older. 14 and up dont have SIM card slots anymore and you can only do eSIM.

eSIM is pretty easy,too, though.

iPhone 16 doesn't have a sim card. Unlocked phone will activate for your carrier, but it will be locked afterwards :(

What? If you have an unlocked 16 you can definitely have multiple esims of different carriers lol. It’s just not a physical sim

Every phone i've ever activated on ATT's network has become locked to them. All have been bought unlocked from apple.com. It's very annoying of them.

I have used a few different apple phones and swapped them back and forth several times between at&t and tello (t-mobile network) with no issues. Never had one "lock" into at&t.

On the newer iPhones you don't even need a physical sim. I think 14 and up? You just call your carrier to activate the eSim on the phone. it's really nice.

I rec a used iPhone 14 pro max. Battery is amazing.
