Chamberlain MyQ garage door opener

Anyone have one of these? Recently had my doors replaced and went with the smart openers. I like their app, and that it connects to Ring as well, but wondering if there are any geofencing options. I didn't see it in the MyQ app, but there was a listing of things that they work with. Was hoping Alexa was one so I could tell it to open the door, but that doesn't seem to be an option. Any workarounds or tips you can give me?

Not sure if we’re talking about the same thing… but I bought a Chaimberlain MyQ box that mounts on the wall - next to my garage door opener - that lets me remotely open and close the door via the app.
I was able to add the controller (via the cloud) to my Home Assistant Server, and now I can view the door status and control from HomeKit and build rules and automation around it.

IFTTT would be my last option because I had issues with the geo-fencing being triggered.
There is a MyQ skill in the Alexa app, or at least there use to be. I know Alexa's geo-fencing is decent because my wife uses it to trigger the lights when she pulls up to the house.

I have one. Box is mounted on my garage ceiling.
I use the MyQ app from Chamberlain as well. It can control 2 different garage doors.
It's been pretty reliable - but occasionally the app will open up and ask for my username and password - which sucks. It shouldn't forget my settings.

Pretty sure it works with Alexa. I know you can allow Amazon to open it to put packages inside.

It works with Alexa. I don’t use geofencing but Alexa voice commands work well.

Mine are the openers with the MyQ built in. I don’t have a separate box. I’ve tried searching the Alexa app and not seeing it. But I’m guessing I’ll just need to figure out what to use. I did set up the Amazon key delivery option and linked it to my Ring app. Thanks everyone. At least I know it’s somehow possible

I had one, it was very inconsistent. I just bought a new model now to give another shot. So far it has been the same experience

Same. It's very temperamental, it works when it wants to. There was about a 2 week period where Apple devices could not connect to any MyQ servers.
I'm thinking about getting a new garage opener that is wired.

I have your exact same set up. Following to see if you can get it to work with Alexa. I have not figured it out

It looks like they removed the skill. It's to prevent someone from yelling through your window to your echo and the door opening.

which is retarded. you could just set up the skill so its a custom phrase. "alexa open the enterprise bay". i'm so tiredof this argument. you can provide security without throwing the baby out with the bath water.
i have 2 zwave+ garage door openers and programmed them to work through alexa and everything works perfectly. probably more steps than necessary but i just created a macro in my home automation hub (hubitat) and set up a phrase in alexa to call the macro. alexa has no idea what she's controlling. she's just calling a macro and the macro does the work on the HA hub.
'alexa open the escalade door' and 'alexa open the floyd door' (we named our classic bmw floyd because he came with a pink floyd CD stuck in the cd player)
i rant alot about chamberlain because their smart garage door opener is garbage. mine splices into the doorbell wires controlling the switch so it will work with *ANY* garage door opener created in the history of mankind.
there's also no fee to use it.

Weird- apparently I knew that at some point because I implemented the simple workaround for it. There is an Alexa skill named SimpleCommands and a corresponding app. Here is a page with step by step instructions to implement it.

I have 5 doors, and it let me add them all. Not sure what the limit is.

I have had this happen as well, and other apps too.

I'm moving where it gets mounted and the sensor to other side to be a little closer. Lets see if that makes it any better

I love mine.
B.c. they are inexpensive I've bought my parents, brother and co-worker the same unit for x-mas presents.

Do these still require a subscription? That was a hard NO for me when I was researching them.

No. I paid about $12 for mine. Was the only cost.
