Looking for 75" TV with the following

Slim/flush design, Smart, and seamless interface. I have an LG right now I don't love the home interface.

When looking at TVs what are the main specs I should be looking for? 4K with OLED or just 4k? 60 Hz refresh rate?? Basing all these questions off what I just saw at Walmart.

Thought I wanted a frame TV but those are unnecessarily expensive.

Edit: Just saw they make 8K tvs now.

I’d get one at Walmart for under $500 and not worry about that stuff but that’s just me.
Only universal advice I can give is do not buy a TV for the “smart” interface. You can always add a different one and in the past, they have become outdated long before the monitor itself needed replaced.

OLED if you want to spend that much, MiniLED if not. 120Hz minimum, 60Hz is for the cheap cheap tvs these days and terrible for movies, action, sports, gaming or just any fast moving scene to put it simpler. Most are now going 144Hz.

do not consider the TV's smart platform. You can buy a streaming device to provide whatever streaming platform interface you like best.

Considering you didn't mention anything about the typical video quality aspects, just get a TCL or Hisense of the size you want.

If you are going to get into picture quality aspects then the conversation will change but I dont think that is necessary.

If you have had good luck with LG just get another LG and then get a Roku, AppleTV, Google Streamer, Fire stick or whatever you like best.

Yeah, I am not hard to please. I watch a minimal amount of sports.

Any soundbar recommendations?

My only opinions on soundbars is that if you pay for anything more than 2.1 (left/right/subwoofer) setup, it is a waste of money. if you want surround sound, get something with actual surround sound satellite speakers.

Vizio, Samsung, Polk all make good soundbars with subwoofers.

They are up to 16K now unfortunately they hardly have anything in 8k and I am happy with my 4k . I guess other than watching my nature shows or sports in something greater than 4k I don't see the use in purchasing anything in 8K.

I have this TV (costco version) and it is a phenomenal set but it seems overkill for what the OP is asking for.

Right but I have been down the same path buying multiple TCL TVs including the highly recommended 6 series multiple times just to have them fail at 2-3 years.

agreed that hisense or LG would be better options than TCL for longevity.

I am more indecisive now than ever after doing some research. Wish I could spring for the OLED.

The budget is somewhere around $1000

If that is the case then get the Sony X90L. It is one of the best LED TVs made. The technical reviewers loved the color accuracy, motional handling and visual processing of that TV. It even has very good HDR brightness.

Agreed. I think you will be blown away by it if you're coming from an older TV.

I am pretty sold on the Sony X90L but came across this Hisense for $300 less. How does this compare?

Amazon

hisense is less accurate and falls behind in many of the "techie" video snob aspects but it is a fine TV. The hisense probably has less blooming but i'd always take the X90L.

You can find in depth analysis on youtube, especially from vincent teoh and FOMO.

EDIT: One caveat is size. Get the largest you can get for your budget. If you can get a 75" hisense for the price of 65" X90L, get the hisense. Nobody regrets getting a bigger TV.
