Anyone in Nola area have trouble getting NBC on their antenna? Every other channel is perfect but sometimes I cannot get NBC. Have antenna in attic pointed right at the NBC signal.

NBC is fine on the northshore.
After the rains this weekend, I was mainly having trouble with CBS and FOX.

I have DirectTV streaming right now. No NBC and now no FOX,
same here. NBC is fine through Peacock but Fox App still is blacked out after logging in with provider.
I was able to watch Colorado/TCU on FOX with firestick/Kodi/IPTV but was buffering some and PITA.
I just ordered a LCC through DirecTV and will hope that works for 44 and 33

I'm curious if anyone else uses Fub_o with a G_PS spoo_fer app for their sports fix? (Trying to keep this safe using "_" from external search results.) I hope they don't choose any loopholes this weekend. This preseason I was easily able to use the Fub_o app, a VPN, and the other app to record any games I wanted. The only drawback is that you are roughly 20 seconds behind "live tv".
Needed: Cell phone, VPN, Fub_o, and the spoo_fing app
Steps:
1. Turn on the VPN and set your location in the spoo_fing app
2. Open Fub_o app and go to your guide.
3. If the local channels are in the city you want to record, go ahead and set your game to record. (If not force close Fub_o and repeat the setting of your desired setting in your spoo_fing app.)
4. If you've set it to record you just have to wait. You can view it from your recording folder anywhere whether on your phone without any of the needed apps or TV app.
5. At gametime select "start from the beginning" (if you select "play from live" it'll error out). You can fast forward to get it to a 10-20 second delay.
No need for YT TV's jacked up cost. Use NFL Broadcast Maps to see where your team is airing. (The trick works for everything including pre/postgame and any local programming if say you're interested in how much it must suck to be an Arkansas fan right now. )
If you want baseball games you can go into their app and change your ZIP to the RSN area and do the same trick. (I've used it this week with AZ & LA to watch the Orioles's State middle infielders.)

Have been waiting for Starlink to become available in my area since 2021.
I just got it (central Louisiana).
Paid deposit on 9/18
Equipment shipped on 9/25
Delivered on 10/6
At night/early morning, I'm getting 175-240 download and the rest of the day it ranges from 40-120 depending on time of day.

So what antenna should I be using? The link in the original post is dead.
We are up in NELA in northwest Ouachita parish.
A family member just got a Channel Master antenna. He is getting about 40 channels. The basic networks. Downloaded the app, it showed him how too adjust the antenna to get the channels he wants.
The NO Saints in blacked out in our area on the basic network, KARD Channel 14(FOX). No biggie to me as I don't care too much for pro sports. But yeah, pretty crappy of the Saints to black out their games 250 miles away. But I don't even care about them anymore.
I am ditching crappy DishNetwork when my contract expires with them next March.
Starlink Internet service is now available in our area as well. So goodbye to the crappy internet service as well.
I want to be able to catch the LSU games, mainly football, baseball.
There are a few other channels I like with Dish but for most part Dish, is over-priced with mostly crap programs and infomercials.
Any suggestions?

My current cord cut setup:
Live Tv - Antenna coupled with TabloTV. Can watch locals on any device as well as DVR and TV Guide. $0
HD Radio ($10 at Goodwill) - Ohio State Basketball games are on Big Ten Network. Cincinnati Reds on the AM Dial soon. They have every game on radio. For most games, this has been fine. Careful not to text your buddies to fast as they are watching on a delay (in the past) and you are listening in real time. Also, there is nostalgia attached to the radio broadcast.
Youtube (Premium) $13/monnth. I have about 200 subs and it gives a huge library of new content each day. Watching zero ads ever really enhances this experience. With ads, I watch youtube much less but also an option.
$0-$12 month
Library Card $0 - They have nearly every new release movie you can buy from VUDU. Que up a ton of good ones and wait like you did with OG Netflix. Also, my kids are picking up Nintendo Switch and PS5 games as well. $0
Sporadic choices:
Peacock TV $.99/month (Black Friday deal 2 years in a row) purchased a 1 year subscription for $12.
HBO Max - $2.99/month (after first month went to cancel and they offered this for 6 months)
Netflix $6.99 with ads. Usually in one month I'll stream what I want to stream and return back in 3-4 months once they've replenished a good bit of content.
NCAA.com/HBO - March Madness options
Paramount TV - Came free with the Walmart+ Subscription but $50/year for both
Every now and then:
Disney-Espn-Hulu bundle - usually once every 5-6 months to stream the library or catch some live sports. $20?
BallyTV $19.99/month - will subscribe if Reds are competing, Cavs or Blue Jackets are doing well. This allows me to watch every game live in my area for Cavs, Blue Jackets Hockey, and Reds baseball. I don't subscribe often as these teams aren't usually great.
Amazon Prime - When they have a lineup of palatable Thursday Night Football Games. Probably buy this 3 times per year at $9/month
NFL Network w/Redzone - I usually purchase this 3 months a year for the NFL redzone at $15/month ($45 year).
All in, I always have Local Tv, Youtube Premium, Peacock, and Paramount and HD Radio. This is about $17/month with the black friday purchases.
Most of the time, I'll at least have one extra premium services and cycle each month. ($10/month). Then the free apps will have some good stuff every now and then, FreeVee, Tubi, RokuTV, etc.
Cost of internet: $28/month for 1gb speed. Luckily, I have 2 companies in my area that offer high speed internet. I have switched back about 6 times to be a "new customer" with their best offers. The cancel threat work as well as I am not their only choice. I usually spend $45/month but last 6 has been $28.
Cons?
Live games will pop up on something I don't have. Most of the time I'm good but you do miss something sometimes.

How so? I usually spend about $50/month all in on average. I take that extra $1500 in savings and spend it on vacation and living life. I've never heard of going to the library and listening to games on the radios as "wasting life" what a goober.

Free iptv player and the free channel iptv list from GitHub is pretty good. Tcm both coasts for free, as well as tnt.

There’s a ton of info in here for a new found cord cutter. Any recommendations for best service to keep local channels + have as much sports as possible? Is it YouTube TV? I’m sure it’s been answered 100 times, just a time and specific search. Thanks in advance.

Get a good IPTV based out of Europe and some providers even offer VPN with it. 100$ for whole year and no one of these streaming services that add up to cost more than cable
Posted on 6/10/24 at 2:09 am to BlackJack02
Yes, for a no hassle deal. It's about 65 per month, and then whatever you pay for internet.
So not really savings galore over a basic cable setup with internet providers

Someone give me a quick rundown on IPTV. Saw someone mention it on another board.
I have Kodi with some kickass addons that let me pretty much watch any movie or tv show I can think of. I have real debrid and have had zero issues with shows or movies.
My live sports add ons can be hit or miss sometimes. I’d say I can find any sport I want and have pretty good picture quality about 90% of the time. Buffering does act up sometimes but usually another stream fixes it.
Is IPTV something I should add? I don’t want to pay for something more so is there a free one? Just trying to figure out what it can provide in addition to what I already have access to.

I wouldn't use a free one if it exists. with IPTV you are competing for bandwidth with the other users, too many and there is buffering so a free version would be hit pretty hard. The ones I've used get around this by offering multiple streams of the more popular channels. hard to beat 8k+ channels for $10-15/mo. I pretty much use it strictly for football season so i dont subscribe all year. You just need to find a provider and download TiviMate. I'd get the paid version as I've heard the free version will overrun your device storage as a nice little easter egg from the developer.
