What IPTV is everyone using?

All last year I used RedPill Media and I would rate it 8/10.
Amazing selection but 1/5th of the time the connection would drop during a movie. Very annoying.
What are you guys using?

RP and it works pretty damn good. When I have problems it's almost always on my end. Use a good VPN and they also have the backup service for cheap. I watch all sorts of live sports including Euro Sport 1 and 2 and it's pretty solid. Are you on their Discord? There is some good help on there.

You are using redpill as well? Movies don't randomly freeze and restart for you?

I haven't experienced that. I will get a 10-20 second buffer sometimes but not a total except maybe once every 50 movies. I just reboot everything, router etc and that usually fixes it. But I do have Netflix and watch most movies on there.

Contentwizards. It’s more expensive than some of the others but comes with a back up IPTV and a really big VOD. Very stable and they respond quickly to any issues.
My only gripe is their app sucks, and they know it. They ask people to use tivimate. Other than that, really pleased. Only problem I ever had was actually on my end, and before we figured that out, they gave me a refund for the month, lol.

Do you need invites to use IPTV, or Facebook? I started a thread early in the year and then got busy and never followed through. I'm ready to start and would have 2 locations. I have an Nvidia shield at home and the 2nd location if that plays into it all all.

Email them. It’s their name @protonmail.com
If they ask where you heard about them, send them the link. It’s strictly referral based.

hypothetically speaking; if one were a member of a certain well-known private movie/tv show tracker, what would one think of the IPTV service advertised on that site?
Anyone use it? I think its called privateiptvaccess. I hae to admit the advertised 51,995 channels is a bit intimdating

The one I use is small, no advertising. No clue, about the one you are talking about, but the one I use is very robust.

Has anyone integrated an IPTV service into Plex? I'm not sure if it's possible, but it would be nice to have iptv channels right there in the live TV guide with my locals from the hdhomerun.

Don’t most IPTVs have locals anyway?
Posted on 7/5/23 at 11:05 pm to touchdownjeebus
Maybe, but I'd still like to use Plex if possible.

yes, well..its possible. i went down this path and installed just about everything then got cold feet when it came time to purchase a service.
IPTV via plex is the only way that makes sense for me because i'm not playing 'how the frick do i get iptv on THIS new fricking tv' game.
you need this:
xTeVe
and let me find the plex specific steps..seems like lots of people were doing it.

The guide is private unless you have IP torrent user, but i would be happy to download the guide. Here's the summary to get started. Doesn't seem at all difficult.
IPTV with Threadfin (xTeVe) and Plex
EDIT: 6/1/23: Threadfin supports backup channels. On the fly, no interruptions for end user.
When the dev first added this he had copied over the drop-down from the xml guide selection so it still had that selection when clicked and caused confusion of what it is for, after checking the code, it is in fact backup streams, and has since been confirmed with the dev and an update has been made to correct the drop-down.
Introduction
Hey there, IPTV enthusiasts! Welcome to my guide on how to set up IPTV with Threadfin and Plex. Threadfin is a fork of xTeVe, a tuner specifically designed for Plex/Emby/Jellyfin DVR. You can check out more about Threadfin here. You don’t need to compile it yourself, right here
So, why are you here? Because you want to use Plex for IPTV, right? But hey, it's not always easy to get it to work just right. Well, don't you worry, because by the end of this guide, you'll not only know how to set up Threadfin with Plex, but also:
* How to get automatic images or text placeholders on the 'What's On' and 'Browse' section of Plex Live TV for 24/7, VOD, and PPV streams.
* How to display 24/7, VOD, and PPV channels properly in the channel guide.
* Understand the best method for organizing your channel mapping for duplicate streams and adding new streams.
* Make it actually work with Plex!
Sounds exciting, doesn't it? So, let's dive in!
Quick Tip
This guide will likely work the same for using Emby and Jellyfin, but I cannot confirm as I don't use them.
What You'll Need
Before we begin, there are a few things you’ll need to have:
* A working Plex Media Server. You can download it here.
* A Plex Pass. Its Required.
* Knowledge of how many connections (concurrent streams) you have for IPTV. If you don't know, it's 2 as that's the default.
* Your m3u playlist and EPG. These can be found on the IPTV page where you select the streams you want. There are links on that page for the EPG and m3u.
* Optional 3rd Party EPG, I have found this to provide the simplest experience and ease of use, as well as it being very hit or miss to get images to display inside of Plex without using 3rd Party EPG.

what xTeVe does is creates a "virtual' homerun device that can then be used to 'tune the channels'.
as i understand it, you'll use the webUX of the IPTV service to edit/add/customize the channels you want ahead of time then those will be 'added' to your virtual homerun dvr using the normal plex 'scan for channels'.
I think the trick is to sort this out PRIOR to adding it or else you're going to get all 540,000 channels and you'll be in hell.
so if you already have a physical hd homerun, this would add a secondary one although its possible to mix the guides so they appear as one list i believe.
definitely need to get into this again and get it going before college football season.
kork, i dont think the particular service matters as muh as long as you can export a M3U file of your channels to get picked up by the virtual DVR in Plex.
if you're going down this road lets do it together!

Again, for anyone asking WHY? Plex has a client on every tom, dick and harry tv and mobile device in the known universe and eliminates any bullshite where you have to trick and hack an app on Roku or Firestick or Samsung apps, android os, apple os, etc. etc.
you set it up once; and IPTV is now your live TV guide available anywhere, everywhere across the planet.

I have everything needed to do this! Patience will be the problem because set up seems like a lot.

I use this one. It's $10 and has been excellent. On the website you can choose which categories you want to see and which ones you don't so you're not stuck with 6000 unnecessary channels. I just find the channels I use and save them to favorites on my IPTV app. Sometimes I don't watch TV especially during summer with limited sports so I let it cancel for a while. When football or something starts back up I just pay the $10 again and reactivate it. Another good feature is on their website (ipt), they post like top 10 most popular channels at any time. So if a big game is on and I'm at work I can just copy the web link for that broadcast from their website and paste it into VLC player on my phone.

I use Tivimate as player.
Found a provider on Reddit. Costs $20 a month with 4 TV connections. Every sport channel I could ever want on top of every local in the country, every premium movie channel, regular channels like History, Discovery, TLC, etc. Haven't missed a UFC or Boxing PPV since I've had the service which has paid for it self. If you refer someone they give you $5 off next months bill.
I use Bee TV or HDO Box for on demand type stuff but there is a upgraded option on his plan to lump that in with service but it is okay for now.
Use Cyber ghost for VPN $56 for 28 months I believe with 7 connections on it.
Very easy set up on all smart Tvs took less than ten minutes total to sideload apps and enter in passwords to start watching Tivimate. Couldn't be happier we disconnected DirectTv after nearly 14 years after monthly bill reached $180.
