Looks like YT has all the Ad Blocker extensions for Chrome figured out now. I think I've tried them all. Any recommendations on one that actually works?

I’ve had no issues using Edge and Brave browsers. I hear that Firefox is still going strong too.
Ditch Chrome.

I'm still having success with Adblocker. I never see ads unless I cast Youtube to a TV.

I think ublock origin is still going strong in Chrome and edge.

Same. Edge and chrome disabled ublock for me recently and they don't make it easy to find in the extensions area to reinstall it.
Tried to pull that "this might be dangerous" crap when I reinstalled it
Eta protip - get around any paywall by clicking on ublock icon after the page loads with the stupid overlay over the article, click the down arrow and toggle "disable scripts on this site" and the overlay goes away immediately.

Brave browser combined with extensive DNS blacklists (Pi-hole and pfBlockerNG) and we never see ads on YT or anything else.

Thank you for this thread. YouTube ads are getting brutal. They are too frequent, improperly timed, and often multiple in number.
I don't mind one ad before my 2nd or 3rd video. I do mind 6 ads in an 11 minute video.

Chrome's privacy bullshite is garbage, it's a different way to track you, as someone that likes big brown butts, baby powder, and avocados. How did anyone figure that out?

does anyone have that meme where chrome is like 'oh you want more privacy? why not tell your secrets to 'mr. incognito' instead?'

google is evil
true story: i was out in my backyard and had removed my lime tree from the shed which i put in there for a few days during the hard freeze we had here in middle TN last week.
- neither of us had our phones on us; they were inside the house but the glass doors were open
- i was upset the tree was looking bad and said 'i can't believe storing this in the shed for a few days made it look so bad'
AS GOD AS MY WITNESS: Google Now on my phone the following day had an article titled "what you can and can't store in an outdoor shed"

we're all under constant surveillance.

I just got a new round of messages from YouTube:
Video player will be blocked after 2 videos
It looks like you may be using an ad blocker. Video playback will be blocked unless YouTube is allowlisted or the ad blocker is disabled.
Ads allow YouTube to be used by billions worldwide.
You can go ad-free with YouTube Premium, and creators can still get paid from your subscription.

Brave is probably the best, “out of the box” browser.
There are trimmed down Firefox browsers and user.js scripts that are very good as well.

i would give brave a try if you have never used it. i think you'll be blown away. literally the best browser i've ever used.
aside from that, is ublock origin available as an extension for Firefox? kill adblock and install ublock origin and see if that message goes away. i'm using ublock on Edge and Chrome (on work PC) and youtube is working fine without ads.

I added the ublock extension for Firefox, went back to Youtube. Got the same message. Disabled AdBlock, or 'paused' it, refresh, video plays. No ads. So, that seems like a fix. Thanks.
