Best overall?
Best value?
Best with no budget?

What do you recommend?

Royal Sonesta at $180 a night is hard to beat imo.

Can't comment on great value really other than to say I've heard the Drury Inn on Poydras seems reasonable and I think has some drinks/snacks included.
Embassy Suites has the managers happy hour and still somewhat of a good free breakfast.

For the nicer places, I still love the club level rooms at the Windsor Court. The drinks and apps, etc that come with that level are great. The location is great. The valet area is so much nicer than at the Roosevelt or Ritz.

International House on Camp St. is usually a good value. Great little bar in the lobby that specializes in craft cocktails.

The Ritz is very nice as well. Expensive though. Ace Hotel is also a good option.

I spent a weekend at Hotel Provincial on Chartres St in the FQ and enjoyed it. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Very reasonable prices.

Best OVerall and no budget are:

Windsor Court
St Vincent
4 Seasons
Ritz
Roosevelt

There are quite a few nice boutique hotels as well.

I'm not sure if I would say shitty, but they were def. on the small side the two times I've stayed there.
And I may have had bad luck with my rooms because it didn't seem like the windows were keeping out much sound. When that area is busy on the weekends, it's a lot of noise with car radios blasting and sirens from the emergency vehicles all damn night long.

Monteleone.

Great location, and old New Orleans charm.

Outstanding bar.
