My wife has a work conference in Vegas in a few weeks and I decided to tag along. We’ll be staying at the Venetian so I’ll be looking to kill time during the day. Planning to Uber over to a few breweries one day, but no plans other than that. Any suggestions?

maybe it’s just me but I hated Vegas. That said we stayed at the Venetian and it’s nice. If the residency is still going on go to a dead/company show at the sphere its amazing

it was hot when we were there in may I can’t imagine how hot it is now…

Vegas doesn’t really seem like my scene either, but it’ll be a cheap trip for me. I imagine it’s going to be stupid hot.

I enjoyed the Atomic Museum (as a time killer).

Is NBA Summer League still going at that time?

My favorite thing when in Vegas - rent a car and get the hell out of that city. Red Rocks Canyon, Hoover Dam, Mt. Charleston, Death Valley if you have ALL day. The people who are there because they love Vegas depress the hell out of me.

Mob Museum is great. I enjoyed the Titanic and Bodies exhibit at Luxor. Miracle Mile Shops at PH, Forum Shops at Caesars and Grand Canal Shoppes at Venetian. Area 15 and Neon Museum, Carroll Shelby Heritage Center.

Atomic Museum

Right across the street is Lotus of Siam. One of the best Thai restaurants in the country. Get the crispy duck and/or garlic shrimp

So sorry ppl jumped in your thread to trash on Vegas. I love Vegas. It’s a lot of fun.

I suggest checking out Travel Ruby’s channel on YT. She has a ton of great suggestions.

I did one of those half day tours to the Hoover dam. It was maybe $100 and it included lunch. They pick you up at a hotel and will have you back early in the afternoon.

Weed store then hit up a sports book for horse racing or something you can bet cheap. Then craps table when you feel like losing some money. Pass out in the hotel bed before your wife gets done for the day.

I’d make so many Vegas Vacation jokes they’d kick me off the tour.

Sports book at the Westgate if there’s a good game on.

It’s the largest in the world and you can Uber right up to the door (its in the back of the resort).

It’s the best place to be on a college football Saturday.

Rent a car or hire a driver and do these. The natural beauty of the area is great. If you want to stay close I do recommend the Mob Museum, Bodies and Titanic exhibit, as was said before. You might be hamstringed on driving out of the city as your wife will probably want to go with you. Take her to go eat at the Mt. Charleston lodge. You'll enjoy the drive and views.

Mt. Charleston lodge

btw, get the Mt. Charleston coffee

Check out Speedvegas motorsports park. I did 7 laps in a Ferrari, that was super fun but they have some off road stuff you can do as well.

First of all, Vegas is a great city/region. Those who hate it dont know how to experience it and only think the Strip is Vegas.

Head out to Red Rock, or if you have time and want weather about 20 degrees cooler, head up to Mt Charleston. Go to some Breweries for sure, check out Area 15, some shows, or the Sphere. If it was Spring or Fall some other ideas open up, but the above will kill some time. Also, go to Lake Mead. Atomic Museum Ive heard is good, and the Arte (with the E) Museum is open I believe, and looks cool.

If you cant enjoy Vegas, youre not trying.

get in a good workout, then a massage
hit the pool
afternoon drinks at the swim-up bar
walk around and people watch
hit the sports book to make your evening bets.
