re: Fish eaters of Tigerdroppings, what's the most delicious fish?
Posted by nolaks on 5/10/24 at 1:33 pm
The freshness plays such a big part in this. I'd take a fish i like much less that was iced well and fresh out the water over something from the store.
Personal taste has a lot to do with it, i love cobia and amberjack but know people who despise both.
I'd probably go:
tilefish
scamp
wahoo...

Yes, have you not improved your understanding and therefore changed your opinion on something based upon trying to further your knowledge through research? We drew the line, same as if you killed one in Alabama and one in...
re: Florida Osceola Hunt Recommendation

Osceola is a myth, proven genetically. I'd say hunt them where you feel like an osceola should be, orange groves or deep in the swamp. Otherwise they are an eastern beyond an imaginary line in the sand. From someone who tried extremely hard to get mine, and my son's...

re: Turkey roosting
Posted by nolaks on 4/10/24 at 10:45 am
I once made a hunt in some really bad winds, on my drive to the spot an hour before daylight there was one standing in the road. I also now assume if you ever see one run over in the road, they got blown out of the tree...
re: South Texas Success

Times change,
I sometimes want to bend the brim on my 11 year olds flatbill, or tell him not to wear bright tennis shoes hunting. Then i realize he's the only one in his class, maybe his grade, possibly his school who regularly goes with his dad. And for that I'm grateful....

I saw a pic where it was in that rig, so pretty sure thats the one they hit. Play the game enough you'll either have a near miss or something will happen. How many of the venice charter captains have had issues? i can think of a dozen without racking my brain. Names withheld to protect the ignor...

its been quite a few years since i spent a considerable amount of time on the road, but a decade ago it wasn't uncommon to spend 300 nights a year in a hotel. In Louisiana we take decent food for granted. However, when you spend a month traveling to no name towns in the midwest, you appreciate the...
