re: Federal judge vacates CDC's eviction moratorium
Posted by texashorn on 5/5/21 at 12:49 pm
This is a federal district judge, right? Should his ruling apply nationwide?
I think there was much consternation about a Hawaii judge doing that....

The Texas State Supreme Court established an eviction moratorium that applied to Justices of the Peace, the court of original jurisdiction.
That has since expired.
The feds stopped foreclosures on federally-backed loans....

I got down in the gutter with y'all when 808lbs told me to eff off, commie, in response to my thoughtful post.
I see comprehension isn't your strong suit, either....

You are welcome to suck on a glock, too.
You are one childish dude....

I think they argued -could- be compromised because Cyber Ninjas refused to disclose its privacy protection protocols.
That was settled last week.
Suck on that one, Yankee. Words matter, as does comprehension....

Because they thought a portion of the health code under which they operate allowed them to do it....

Why don't you offer to testify on behalf of the audit, since you know so much?...

I don't know. Those in possession of the routers claim various personal details could be compromised. Did you read the thread?
Perhaps the subpoena is overly broad and needs to be whittled down to exclude that info....

Do you think the people of Arizona wanted so much of their private information in the hands of Cyber Ninjas from Florida?
Meemaw and Pawpaw's outrage over a stolen election pales in comparison to having their Social Security numbers stolen.
I would hope my government did its due diligence in p...

In Texas, there's a loan foreclosure and a tax foreclosure.
For loans, the foreclosure sale is handled on the courthouse steps, just like the tax sale, except the loan sale is handled by an appointed trustee and the tax sale is handled by the sheriff.
The loan foreclosure is separate from an e...
re: WSJ editorial: As Joe expands govt by most in decades, Trump is busy stoking civil GOP war

But you see, I’m not sure he really believed any of that. The former president just found those issues with a groundswell, which stroked his ego.
When he started advocating spending trillions in stimulus, deficit be damned, just to get re-elected... then, I knew. He was liable to turn on any and ...

The sad thing about most of the responses to this is that they think this is about policy or ideology.
It’s about fealty to Trump and his six-month (and counting) “reee” that he lost the election.
I had kind of forgotten that the former President had screamed fraud and wanted a revote when Ted...
re: TEXIT Bill (HB 1359) video/virtual testimonies - *PREVIEW* and Call to Action
Posted by texashorn on 5/4/21 at 11:48 pm
The legislative session ends at the end of May. Generally, if a bill hasn’t left committee by the end of April (such is the case for “Texit”), it’s dead.
This alternative form of “committee” testimony is a stunt just like the “alternative” slate of electors that were being pushed by Trump. Both a...
re: President Trump and Ted Cruz supped together tonight

What in the hell are you talking about?
"This story is garbage. It is tabloid smear. It came from Donald Trump and his henchmen," Cruz said, adding the report is "indicative of just how low Donald Trump will go."
Trump also got his buddy at the National Enquirer to run the story that Cruz’s father was in on the JFK assassination in Dallas.
Does anybody remember when Cruz beat Trump in Iowa?
Does this sound familiar?
“Ted Cruz didn’t win Iowa, he stole it,” Trump (@realDonaldTrump) tweeted. “Tha...

Unfortunately, the former President’s proclivity to slash, burn and throw everyone under the bus has made his window of support among fellow politicians smaller and smaller.
By the time 2024 comes around, he will have turned on all but a select few, like Mississippi or Oklahoma Republicans.
Ev...

I get you think this is a communist plot to undermine capitalism....

What is your analysis on this?
Good for savers, bad for borrowers? I think with all the printed money being circulated and regular Americans taking it in the shorts on savings rates, this could be good?...
Pfizer frequently points out that it opted not to take federal funds proffered by the Trump administration under Operation Warp Speed, the initiative that promoted the rapid development of Covid-19 vaccines.
I’d like to point out that former President Trump took issue with that char...
