re: Duck Dog + Yard= Major Problem
Posted by twogapper55 on 5/26/14 at 8:05 pm
You got 2 choices
Build a kennel for the dog or bring it in the house and crate train it. Every retriever I've ever had have been hell on a yard. They spend so much time with you that they get separation anxiety had tear stuff up. Lastly bring that dog in the house and make it a part of the family. Not gonna effect how he retrieves one bit. He's gonna make your life easier during duck season....make his easier during the off season.

re: Just how "public" are public schools?

Free public education. Not a playground for the public.
I'm a high school coach and deal with this all the time. You may be part of the 10% of people that will use the facility and leave it the way you found it but sadly that isn't a common practice of the public useing those facilities.

Took everything in interior but the seats and steering wheel. Broke up the dash and door panels. Couple dents on outside. It's an 06. Will insurance total it or fix it up.

Lighthouse Inn. Has really nice bunch of tralers for rent right up the road from hotel. 3 bedroom will easily sleep 6. Best deal down there.

Get a fly rod. Rig it with a popping bug and tie a black bream killer behind it on a 2 foot leader. If that pond is as loaded as you say you will be pulling them in 2 at a time!
Natchitoches what you got?

Easy way to fix that muffler business. Find a buddy that welds. Cut it open. Remove the baffles. Weld the end back on.

Not Legal. Definetly not legal to go take the sugar cane out the field. Doubt if it's legal would be like brushing with corn stalks with the cobs still on it.
re: The new "helmet coming off the head" rule is dangerous
Posted by twogapper55 on 9/8/12 at 6:58 pm

The helmet leaving the head is just another way energy from a large hit is dissipated. By putting in a rule like this, players will tighten the helmet down to a point that the head will get wretched strongly in the wrong direction from a big hit. I hope the helmet manufacturers or colleges sue to remove this silly rule before someone is injured.
This rule was put in place through the lobbying of the helmet manufacturers. Those things are not designed to come off like a pop off valve! If it comes off there is something wrong with the fit or something is failing (snap or straps too loose). Tightening the helmet causing the head to wrench in a direction makes no sense. That thing should fit as tight as a glove.
re: Any OBers own a gator trax boat?
Posted by twogapper55 on 8/19/12 at 10:41 pm
Had one and loved it untill I got my gator tail. Only draws about 3 inches. Couple draw backs: it's heavy as hell get a 35 and sup it up, limited shooting window because you are on your back ( you not doin any pass shooting out of that thing). Pros: low profile, if you do it right the birds will never see you, Kenny and the guys that build them are top notch guys.

Mexico had some great ones untill the drug trade went crazy. Wend down there twice a year for a while. Lago Vista lodge on lake Guerrero. They are still open I'm just not to hip with the risk. Guys that run it are awesome and they treat you like a king.
