How good the ACA is entirely depends on your state, your income limits, and which facilities in your area accept the plan. I'd quit my job today and go part-time if those plans were worth a shite in my area. They do work for a lot of people but you have to do your homework....

re: Actively managed accounts

What exactly is the definition of an "actively managed" account? I know folks who pay advisors 1-2% per year but these advisors make very few actual trades. The money mostly just sits in funds. I don't understand the point of paying someone a fee to let your money sit in a fund when I can go out and...

Why do so many people choose to be ignorant about (arguably) one of their biggest financial liabilities? I get that it's not fun to look at all, but most people's returns aren't all that complicated. I will never understand it. ...

re: Higher paying job offer

You are probably aware of all this, but that's a job that has a lot of peaks and valleys in terms of WLB. Plenty of downtown during the quarter but lots of hours at quarter end. There can obviously be a big difference between SEC reporting and non SEC reporting, so I get why you're wary about it. If...
I don’t like that they do it this way but I do understand why. I guess I’ll just ask them to withhold an extra $100 or so from each base salary check just ti be safe
No one can answer that without knowing your taxable income.
