I saw an update that said they were told the sword is indeed a US Military sword and is around 100 years old.

As I said yesterday, it’s clearly a Model 1860 Cavalry Saber. But if it is an authentic Model 1860, it has to be over 100 years old. They were phased out of service after the Spanish American War.
