When I worked at the Metairie Outback, Lil Wayne came in once with his crew. They happened to get the hottest waitress in the place. The whole time she was in the back talking about how she was flirting it up and expected a big tip. Well the little airhead actually mentioned something to that effect to Wayne. I was bussing a table nearby and heard him say, deadpan, "Lil Wayne don't tip." And that night, he didn't.

My high school golf coach moved to San Antonio my senior year. She gave Robinson golf lessons. She said he might have been the best human being she had ever spent time with. This was back in 94-98ish.

I met Richard Petty at the Beau Rivage years ago. He had people around him but spoke to everyone, super nice guy. My brother took a picture of us with his flip phone, I have that pic on a hard drive somewhere.

Barry Switzer was super nice when I ran into him before the 2003 national title game.
Henry Winkler is probably the best nicest human I have ever met.
Met Natasha Henstridge back in college at the 1997 MTV Rock and Jock Super Bowl. Shot my shot and asked her to meet us out later and she very politely lied to me and said she would love to but had other commitments.
And Kordell Stewart was EASILY the best athlete on that field.

Every story I’ve heard about meeting him makes him sound like one of the chillest dudes around.
Slightly unrelated but saw him DJ at Bonnaroo this year and he kept threatening to jump off the stage and start a mosh pit if he didn’t see one getting started

Should've asked him if his back was still broke...

I was in Syracuse and got on an elevator at my hotel. Jim Boeheim was on it. His team had won a big game and they were having an after party at the hotel. I walked in, stood in the corner, and said "Your boys played a great game tonight, coach." He totally ignored me.
I was in NO for the 2012 Final Four. They also have the coaches convention. I get on an elevator and Boeheim is on there. I said something like “I enjoy watching your teams play” and he just looks at me like I’m a dumbass for interrupting the silence.

Anthony Mackie is a Grade A a-hole. I’ve seen social media clips of him being rude to the general public, he’s been rude to a few close friends on separate occasions and during one interaction called a group of us racist after we sent a drink to him but not his group.

Jean Claude Van Damme sat in the pew in front of me at Mass. He didn’t bother offering anyone a sign of peace. His bodyguard did and just shook his head at Van Damme.

Way more good stories than bad stories, but here's a bad one:
My friends and I used to go to the Mariner's games at the Kingdome after we got our driver's licenses in the mid-80s. The crowds were so small that you could stand by the player's gate and have all kinds of interactions with visiting players, since no one else was there.
My friend had this baseball card:
Earlier in the season, he'd waited by the gate and had Wally Joyner sign his side of the card (super nice guy).
The A's came to town and my friend handed the card to Jose Canseco to sign his half of the card. (There were 6 of us at the gate, no other fans). Canseco took the card, signed his side of it, then ripped it in half, handed his side of the card back to my friend and took Wally Joyner's side of the card with him.
Biggest dick move I've ever seen.

Here's another one, again, Mariners related:
Friends and I (4 of us) were standing next to the Brewers dugout as they finished BP, and Cecil Cooper walked by. We offered our gloves for him to sign (and we were polite, it was always "Mr. So-and-So", never rude or demanding). He dead-eyed all of us, then stopped, right in front of us (if we had wanted to touch him, we could have), stopped, kneeled, and re-tied each of his shoes, while staring right at us.
Then, he stood up and walked into the dugout.
As we're watching him walk in the dugout, Paul Molitor approached us and took our gloves and signed all of them and said "that guy's a huge a-hole" in reference to Cecil Cooper. Molitor (and Moose Haas) hung around and talked with us for about 10 minutes, both guys were very cool and made up for bizarre snub by Cooper.

Fall of 1982 in Fayetteville, NC at the Cumberland County Auditorium at Ozzy Osbourne concert and my best friend's dad had a connection to the sherrif's dept and they let us back stage. Randy Rhodes took us to his guitar room during intermission and showed us all his guitars
Must have been his ghost.....Randy died in March of 82 the day before Rock SuperBowl 14 in Orlando. I know because I was there for the concert.
Must have been '81. Cool story nonetheless

Robbie Benson ignored a stop sign and when I hit the brakes, layed on the horn, he shot me the bird and drove on.
Flipside
We were waiting in a long line for a table in Elbow Cay. Finally, we were at the head of the line. Gregory Peck walked up, said we were with him. Sat at his table and had one hell of a great time.

These weren't really chance encounters, but Morgan Freeman and Carlos Santana were really nice people. Santana went out of his way to be friendly.
I performed with Beyonce in 2005 (in a choir), and she did not acknowledge us at all, even in rehearsal.

didn’t recognize the first golfer but I did recognize Ricky Fowler. The first golfer stepped up and gave his smoothie order and kinda joked with us. Then Ricky whispered what he wanted to his assistant and the assistant ordered for him. I didn’t think much of it at first.
Sucks to hear. I have a friend who became pretty close with Rickie as an executive at one of his sponsors. She said of all the dozens of celebrities and athletes that they partnered with Rickie Fowler was hands down the nicest, most down to earth person she dealt with. He treated everybody with respect. Said exactly opposite about Shaun White. Major a-hole

When I was in 6th grade, 2002-03 when The Admiral was about to retire, we had to do a little class project where we wrote a celebrity a letter. David Robinson was one of my favorite NBA players, so I chose him. I got sent back a little premade postcard with his picture and a pre typed thank you note, which is what most people got if they got anything back at all, BUT I was the only one in my class to get one back that was hand signed, he said “Thank you for the letter, BowlJackson”
Between that and the Spurs winning the Finals a few months later, I became a Spurs fan for life. For a couple years after that I even held a little grudge against Tim Duncan bc I felt like bc of him people didn’t give David Robinson enough credit for the Spurs first two championship, and in my head I still saw The Admiral as the better of the two and Timmy as just his protege

It’s interesting to see the same people show up on threads here and elsewhere.
Everyone has positive things to say about David Robinson and Keanu Reeves.
Everyone has negative things to say about Shaun White, Chevy Chase, and (almost all of the time) Michael Jordan.
The only celebrity who has switched lists who didn’t go throw a long drug addiction, followed by sobriety appears to be Michael Phelps, who was up there on the A-hole list but has seemingly matured over time.
