I can not believe how fricking reckless politicians have become with the number billion.

Treasury set to borrow $776 billion next quarter, the most ever borrowed in the fourth quarter
quote:

New York
CNN

The US Treasury Department said it expects to borrow $776 billion in the final quarter of this year, the most the government has ever borrowed during a fourth quarter.

The forecast is $76 billion less than the estimate Treasury made in August due to higher-than-anticipated tax collections in October. That’s partially a result of deferred tax collections from residents and corporations in states like California where tax deadlines were extended due to extreme weather, Treasury officials said on a call with reporters on Monday.

At 5% plus I guess. Pretty soon, almost all the revenue the government raises will go to pay interest on the debt.

There are people that will tell you this means nothing.

We’re paying almost $500B a year just on interest on our debt.

There are people that will tell you this means nothing.

Those people are idiots.

They're already running into low demand at auctions.

There is only so much debt they can sell and they will have to pay higher rates to move it all.

It is absolutely reckless, but debtors are going to have to go to war with the US to collect the debt. My guess is that they don't even care because they're making enough on the interest. Global economy balance is a strange thing.

Chickens are about to come home to roost. The US empire is a bloated, rotting corpse.

Rand is right. Like 2008, it’s a bubble, and they’re perfectly fine with kicking the can down the road and knowing that when it bursts, they can scream “it wasn’t meeeeeee!”

$879.3 billion this year to be exact, and that number will increase as older low interest debt gets rolled over to higher rate instruments.

For an additional perspective, America is now paying more in interest on its debt than we do on our annual dept of defense budget LINK

Borrowed 1 trill in Q3 expected to borrow 1.5 trill in Q4. We are dang near 1 trill a month. This is going parabolic.

The CBDCs will step in as a savior from hyperinflation. We have an obligation to our own freedom to choose P2P crypto or hard barter assets before we submit to CBDCs

When the country collapses, they will still have a gov't paycheck. But the millions of people who have to work for a living will become jobless and have no way to keep a roof over their heads.

Do you actually believe the government would intentionally destroy itself? Do you think those in congress who are raking in millions of dollars would let those dollars become worthless? No. We are more likely to start a world war and destroy the planet before this system collapses

Absolutely, they've been doing it for 100 years.

The government is a bunch of bureaucrats and elected officials who only give a shite about the next election, or their own jobs, which is to serve politicians.

Theres no long term plan, theyre just adding more sump pumps to keep the ship from sinking.

Why didn’t ‘they’ wave that magic wand in 2008 and make it all go away? If mass priming is OK, why not print everything and let people keep all that they earn?
