According to Harvard Magazine, ATF Director Dettelbach answered that he'd like to revive the federal prohibition on "assault weapons," which expired in 2004.

Surely he has some evidence the 94 AWB did something then right? I’ll hang up and listen for his response.

Dettelbach

He couldn't define it when questioned in what an assault weapon is yet wants to ban them. Par for the course for anyone in that organization.

Liberals love to talk about banning ARs. I always ask them one question and have yet to get an answer. Question is. Let’s say you get your way and ban the sale of ARs, what do you do about the millions of ARs already in circulation?

Make gun owners wealthy by creating a new generation of pre bans?

Yeah probably so. I’m just trying to get them to admit that they want door to door confiscation. That’s the end game and they will lose

Now when you ban “assault weapons”, what are you actually banning?

Just the stamped lower receiver? I mean that the only part that is registered anyway.

I'd rather ban the ATF and send that clown to the unemployment line.

According to Tigerdroppings user Alphaandomega answered that he would like to see the ATF (and FBI) abolished, and the top 20% of their leadership put in prison. In gen pop.

I’ve said all along, there are three things that, if taken away, would justify a legit grassroots revolution by force: the 1st amendment, 2nd amendment, and free / fair elections. They’re well on their way.

That legislation accomplished exactly what was intended: to annoy gun hobbyists by making them buy stupid-looking rifles.

We may see that within this decade if we're lucky now that the NRA has been superceded by the GOA, the FPC, et al.

Matter of fact, some of these recent rulings and injunctions have set-it-up nicely for those organizations to make a run at challenging/repealing/abolishing the NFA.
