re: Is Walk-Ons Starting To Struggle?

Not sure it was mentioned but the one on corporate has a liquor license sign up, so it too must be changing hands. Went last week and while the food was hot the service was a joke. Waitress took order brought drinks and then disappeared for 45 mins. Someone else brought the food and then the waitress brought the check. I feel like newer wait staff don’t really judge their table and just time check deliver 15 mins after the food is dropped off, regardless of what’s going on at the table. I mean my nine year old could tell that 2 people hadn’t finished their food and all three of us at the table were watching football.

That's a massive part of it. When I waited tables in college the manager and asst manager would ride the arse of any wait staff found in the back who was not in the process of picking up food (meaning you didn't use "I'm waiting on food" as an excuse to stand around back there for 5-10 minutes). Your job was to be on the floor, waiting to be needed by the customers in your section.

These days the routine seems to be:
1. Get seated
2. Wait staff takes your drink order
3. Brings drinks
4. 10-15 minutes later they come back to take your order. At this point they MAY notice if you need a refill
5. Unless they bring a refill, you don't see them for another 10-15 minutes
6. They bring the order out then disappear until it's time for the check

During those stretches when they aren't just not checking on your table, they aren't checking on any other tables in their section because they're staying in the back to avoid having to do any more than the bare minimum.

It's part of management's job to make sure their wait staff is doing their job. If you aren't seeing them almost constantly on the floor, that's a problem.

used to frequent the one in Metarie a few times a week now Im Also here in Orlando, used to watch NFL at the Kissimmee location every sunday, and with no notice or anything they closed up in middle of week before thanksgiving this past year. I heard rumors by staff about them building up on vineland by Millenia.

Have you heard anything? Cant decide if im more pissed both orlando locations are closed up or that the gator wrap is gone

Another poster put it best if you cant make it in orlando then you have no shot. To your point i prefer walk ons to Ale house 10/10, even on walk ons worst day

One in North Dallas closed before it opened.

Probably cliche to say these days because everyone else is too, but they are Canes level expensive. Just an order of fried cheese is $11 there now.
