I am wondering if getting a bye was worth having to face Barbe in the Quarters lol

barbe is good but they have had a ton of injuries. they can be beat.

if glen wins it this year....i think it will be his best coaching job just with injuries and crazy things happening.

We can definitely get one with Grab on the mound the other 1 would depend on how are pitching holds up.

D1 Select bracket looks boring.

Catholic should cruise.

BM or Curtis should play for a spot in Sulphur against Rummel. So, just a redo of the Catholic League.

Finals should be Catholic and Rummel. Curtis will be scrappy. BM has alot of talent but haven't been able to put it together.

BM is the team that could cause some noise, like you said tons of talent...if they get hot, look out

D1 should 100% reunite imo.

Baseball is the worst casualty of the spilt, easily.

Just when BM seems to be getting going, they stumble again. It's been a really weird year for them. I thought they had plenty of pitching but only a few guys have really taken care of business. I thought they would hit 1-9, but they go completely cold at times. Quite a bit of in and out of the lineup, too. I don't know what to expect at all.

LHSAA should look at everything. From class sizes & boundaries to removing districts.

If we are going to stick with power ratings, then why have districts? Districts are all over the map.

I can't stand how the LHSAA tries to have the same number of schools in each class. I mean the biggest class and the smallest class have the same issue: competing against schools with double the enrollment. It's understood that will happen at the B & C level. But to have that happen in 5a is ridiculous.

Biggest 5a has over 2500. Smallest has 1000? Pretty huge gap for the biggest class.

LHSAA is flawed and needs a major overhaul.

well if the principals hadn't voted for the split in 2013 or the Play in class a decade earlier we wouldn't be here. but again it's better than what it was 2 years ago.

If John Curtis can compete well despite having 1/4 the enrollment of other 5A schools, what’s everyone else’s excuse?

What have they ever won though? EVER...Top 5 enrollments in 5A:

1. Dutchtown
2. Denham Springs
3. St. Amant
4. Bonnabel
5. St. Joseph's Academy

Not trying to hate, but have those schools won a title in baseball? St. Amant feels like they have maybe in the 90's. They have a very solid program, but not like they're dominating. There seems to be a threshold at which point enrollment doesn't seem to matter much. Rummel and Sam Houston are at the bottom of enrollment for 5A and they can beat anyone in the state most years.

A private school with a heavy focus on athletics will always have an advantage over a public school, regardless of size.

What I'm getting at is, it's hard to expect a school that is barely 5a to compete against schools that have a much larger base.

I'm not saying that they can't. They're more the exception than the norm.

Hell if they don't want to fix the classification system let's at least fix the power rankings systems.....there's a certain LP school out there in 5A that played cupcake after cupcake out of district but because they get a couple district wins back their way into playoffs. System is broken.....
