Bump as we are officially in DLC month. I’m doing my third playthrough and just got to the Haligtree Canopy. Feel free to critique my current build:

I just finished a complete playthrough prepping my DLC character. Faith build with good strength. I was going in deep on everything by endgame. Beat Malenia on the 3rd attempt.


Decided to start up DkS3 for just the second time and am getting wrecked. Makes DkS1 feel like Super Mario Bros Wonder

I’m starting my warm up next week. Sticking with my Reaper unless I go faith/strength lightning. I’ve done so many runs of the base with different builds. Faith/strength claps.

My brother, the game is two years old. I’m not sure asking the hyper specific question of “why haven’t there been more great open world Souls-likes designed and released in the last two years” is particularly reasonable

I remember playing for the first time and thinking how absolutely massive and expansive the world was when I unlocked the map fragment for Liurnia….lol

What’s everybody’s crazy ideas for what will happen?

-we know Miquella is (obstinately) good and is more or less our guide or who we are supposed to follow

- The main promo guy Mesmer is obviously a child of Merica. Perhaps even her first, I think it’s what the picture of the pregnant lady could be pointing to. When Merica took the erdree she grew in the land of shadow to the lands between might she have left Mesmer behind to guard over it and ensure it stays veiled as she wanted?

- what could miquella possibly want out of coming to this place? As far I see it nothing with his in game states motivations from the base game give him any reason whatsoever unless it’s intentionally secret from us?

- will we end up fighting miqella? I believe so but it could be an opt in or out kind of thing

- the new armors and weapons look dope. I really like the infinite throwing daggers and the martial arts based ones.

-there’s also the wandering tombs of fallen demi gods. I believe this is miquellas doing and fits into his goals or plans somehow and whatever those wandering tombs are doing are preventing those from becoming similar to Goldwyn

Also ETA for one more id love some more actual clarification on the night of the black knifes. Specifically if Merica was involved because there’s a ton of evidence she did, just one staunch piece is how would Ronnie get the rune of death from Maleketh? Maleketh say something in his fight about how Merica betrays him. Could this be what is meant?

Dont let people put you down about how you use something game designers put in their game and clearly want it there since they have had 2 years to patch it out, although if you mean bloodstep it was heavily nerfed, But still, you used the tools given to you and won whats imo one of the hardest bosses in the entire demons souls=Elden ring catalogue. I am however much much better at Bloodbourne and Sekiro than the more traditional slower pace games but less so in DS3 and Elden rings.
