Wasn’t there a bipartisan border security bill presented recently that Republicans refused to even debate because Trump said it wouldn’t benefit him politically to have secure borders?

Neither side gives a shite about the border or anything else other than enriching themselves.

The bill/legislation you reference would codify the admission of 5k illegals/day......literally using legislation to facilitate the invasion of the US.

The "bipartisan" (Uniparty) bill would allow 5,000 illegals per day (1.8M+ per year) to cross the border with a provision that number could be increased in some circumstances. Why would Trump endorse that?

Are you really that low-IQ of a useful idiot to believe the pure BS the media spewed when that happened? If so, look up "stooge" in the dictionary - your picture will appear.

You're welcome.

You're playing that game where a couple clowns from the Republican side supports it and you call it bipartisan.

Just like the inflation on fire act.

It's a game for dumb people.

The border funding increase was aimed at increasing how many illegals we can process, not at preventing them from crossing the border in the first place.

Our house is flooded and conservatives didn't want to spend tax payer money to buy a larger diameter hose to flood the home faster.

The lack of votes was because there are already enough laws in place concerning the border that aren't being enforced. Do you think 3 years ago the Border Patrol suddenly threw up their hands and realized we had no laws concerning the border? As others have said the bill was shite and only aimed to codify the border invasion.

I’m completely open to the argument that Trump only wants to close the border because it will help him politically.

I’ll take that.

It was a terrible bill. I don't know if Trump said that, but others said it on his behalf for sure.

No. It was a foreign aid and amnesty bill.

Sort of. The bill itself actually legalized a certain level of illegal immigration, it wasn't like it was strengthening existing laws.

And on that subject... Illegal crossings went down under Trump then up tremendously under Biden. Why? Because the laws already on the books (which Trump was having enforced with gusto) began being ignored. It's useless to pass more laws (especially lesser ones) when the laws are already being ignored.

So the "bipartisan border security bill" was useless on two fronts: it actually weakened current laws and the current laws aren't being fully enforced.

No

That bill “solved” illegal immigration by allowing illegal immigration.

This is a story at least two months old. You need to be more informed.

The so called bipartisan bill did not go nearly far enough in keeping illegals out of this country. It would not have secured the border and would have made the problem worse because it would have given money to sanctuary cities to feed and house ilkegals. Free food and shelter encourages more people to enter illegally and live at taxpayer's expense.

bipartisan border security bill

You mean the one where most of the "security" dollars were for hiring intake agents to facilitate paperwork for illegals, rather than actual security?

I'm constantly amazed at the imaginary tripe you people spew.
