Eh, I got 3 egg mcmuffins, 2 hash browns and a large ice tea for $10.19 leaving Gunnison, CO Sunday AM. That's a lot of food, my 2 dogs split a mcmuffin and hashbrown, pricing was quite good. The last time I ate and Chili's here in Santa Fe about 8 months ago got cheeseburger etc for over $10 and it wasn't good at all. Rather pay ~ $15.00 for a nice cheese burger with green chile etc vs that crap.

About 35% of sales comes from breakfast (might be a little old data) and that's not enough to survive. Interesting bc years ago they were about to die and breakfast saved the company. It can't save them now.

Chili's is dead here. The one on Pinhook has at most 6 cars in the parking lot at any time. The other one does better but not great.
And that's why they are prob running the special to drive traffic.

Chilis chips and salsa are pretty good. Even better with a chilly Schlitzwiser Blue Ribbon.

Most of McDonald’s business is through the drive-thru
That's not even accounting for the huge growth in digital (loyalty) and delivery.. In the Q1 earnings report released today... loyalty program brought in $6 billion last quarter ($25b past 12 months).

Most of McDonald’s business is through the drive-thru. It’s apples and oranges.
When I used to go there, I was amazed by the number of women getting overpriced coffee with whipped cream on top, without a food order, in the morning drive through.

Yeah….
But is it fast.
If they advertise preordering on the app and then having it walked out to your car, then it could actually be faster. I'm not sure if they are setup to handle that influx of drivup orders yet, but that's a business model that could work if they redesign their take out setup. I'd buy Chili's over fast food every time if the price were interchangeable and I could drive up to get my order.

I think I last went to a Chili’s in 2010
Forgot they still existed

It really is amazing. 30 years ago this location had wait times of over an hour on weeknights, weekends were nearly two hours. It really is dead and never more than a handful of cars in the lot at any time, even on weekend nights.

Order through the Mc D app get 20% off your order. Free fries Friday. .99 large coffee everyday. I see these morons ordering at the counter paying full price and shake my head.

Right, I can get two Big Macs, two McChickens and a medium fry for ~$11 by using the app

Does the ice cream machine work at Chili's or is it always broken?

Don't know about the competition part, but I agree that's a damn solid deal relatively speaking.
I crave their chips and salsa sometimes. Need to check this out.

McDonald’s Bug Mac meal is $9.00
Chilis meal is $12.00 plus tip. So $15 minimum.
I get what people are saying but it’s not a true comparison.

Their new special I see on TV includes chips and salsa, a soft drink, and a burger and fries for $10.99. This is nearly the same price as a "value" meal at any of the fast food burger joints. Fast food might be dead as we know it.
Well Chilis’s burgers are good.

Overweight folks don’t want to get out of their car to get fast food.

McDs gets a bad wrap, and deservingly so for many things, but they have actually upped their game lately. Toasted buns and fresher ingredients. More sauce on Big Macs, etc.
Having said that it’s ridiculous that a value meal is $10. And Trump isn’t going to magically reduce the prices of fast food. You can thank a lot of minimum wage laws passed at the state level, and a general shortage of labor.
