Who is 2025 SS? Is he on the roster now? Or playing somewhere else?

Braswell errors are definitely out of character. Get him some Christian Little goggles or something.

Braswell will probably get drafted. So without him it’s either Milam, Kucherak, David Hogg, Mikey Ryan, or a portal guy.

I bet Jay just about over recruits the position in the portal this offseason. We’ve had no depth there for a while now.

I think Monster was a SS in HS.

I don’t think the inventory will be there. Last year there were a ton available. A lot of mid majors aren’t starting freshmen and sophomores at shortstop this year.

Our best hope is that there are some coaching changes that cause movement in the P5 or that the PAC 12 guys don’t want to have a shitty travel schedule.

Roch Cholowsky or Pj Moutzouridis specifically

Because he makes so few errors at an easier position

A lot of guys play SS in HS

I don’t think Jay wants to expose Milam to that. If you’ve watched him play 2B he’s off & on as it is

Not ideal to go with freshman, but I really like Michael Ryan and DJ Hogg. If they both make it to campus then we should be fine with one SS transfer assuming Braswell is gone

Playing HS SS and collage SS is worlds apart . Major league scouts swoop up all the good high school Short Stops because you cannot teach lateral movement, quickness, arm strength in the hole .

No such thing! A guy who's played SS cab transition to 2nd or 3rd pretty easily. Hell, Pawl even moved them outfield sometimes

He looks very smooth and effortless defensively to me.

Yeah, but they have to be able to hit. And like someone posted above, professional baseball hoovers up the good defensive shortstops who can hit.
