One of my husband's friends said he had a great time at my sons birthday party in a comment on a photo i posted on Facebook.
He was casting a wide net with a gaggle of mommies. It only takes one to bite.

Bitch
Don’t you choose what you do with your Saturdays not your child. When parents realize you are in control, this is not an issue.
You garbage parents your child’s life revolves around YOU not the inverse. You want to make a difference parent properly.

I like the trampoline places and I can jump, too

You obviously aren’t invited to the hot moms parties

Related - what’s with parents not having their kids open their gifts at the party anymore? I’ve been to 2 or 3 lately where we’ve brought a gift, the gift has been stashed to the side with all the others, and the mom says they’re gonna wait til they get home to open them. These are 4-6 year olds

Birthday parties are great if you can drop your kid off and pick them up when it’s over.

This is by far the worst part of any kid party. Don’t make people watch your kid open gifts

So the kids have more time to play.
I just had my child do a thank you card for each gift after thanking his friend for the specific gift.

If there's free alcohol at any party and decent food regardless of the occasion, I'm always in. Sounds like you need a chill pill.

I like to do an all day family trip for birthdays. We recently spent the day at the state park and had a picnic to celebrate a birthday for my brother's grandson. He got to bring a friend along.

We have my daughter’s party after thanksgiving dinner. Works out perfect and it’s all family. Her mom spends a fortune doing it at the trampoline park or chuckie cheese. Then asks if I’ll help….

As a grandparent, i have went to enough of these parties to realize that it is as much for the parents as it is for the kids. The amount of money I see being spent is ridiculous. It’s parents trying to one up another set of parents. It’s pathetic

Stars and Strikes- bowling lanes with bumpers and an adult lane. Arcade and every kid gets a $5 card for the arcade, pizza served in-house, all the plates and napkins and sprite and lemonade provided, 2 hours total, full bar for parents, though only me and my wife were drinking, the other parents not so much, but we tried to set the example that it wasn't frowned upon, which usually ends up with a stampede, but not this day.
My kid's 9th Birthday Party in March.
This is how you do it.
My niece's birthday parties are always held at home, but there is a cooler full of beer for everyone. Never a bad afternoon. I'd do that too but then you have to do everything yourself, cleanup, etc. At the bowling alley, you come, you pay, you go.

Do dads feel obligated to attend? Some dads come to the parties I’ve attended, but mostly it’s moms, especially for birthdays of classmates. I guess it’s different if these are your friends’ kids, but we’re old so none of our friends still have young kids like us.

I despise these places. I’m only going there for close family. I’ll stay home with the 1 year old and let mommy and the 6 year go to those. I’ve been really lucky so far. Parties are at friends houses and we have a few beers and some grub.
