Sure is amazing how many are against the racial makeup of St George while also supporting the new proposed congressional district

Is St George really whites only? Are y’all building a wall around it too? Asking for a friend.

What is the percentage of minorities currently in the area called St. George?

Will St. George have a policy of not allowing minorities to move in, or will minorities wanting to escape the problems of Baton Rouge be allowed to move there?

Is it accurate to say that this is, essentially, an unincorporated section of the parish incorporating?

This is exactly what’s happening, St. George is 70% white.

From the Joy Reid/MSNBC article:

quote:

It’s hard to see these plans as anything but efforts to divest money and other resources from communities that embody the project of multiracial democracy

Roll that around in your mind and think about what she’s saying.

You hit it right on the head. Crime is one of the highest levels in the country, tax level is amongst the highest in the state and in return we get horrendous schools and infrastructure, the same idiots continue to get elected which leads to more of the same.

But folks are leaving bc they’re racist? Nah. Only idiots believe that and dems use it to their advantage over their weak minded constituents.

Curious as to how many st George residents live and work in St. George or if they work outside of it..

Could the city go after revenue from people employed in organization like lsu.. state.. plants etc… ?

Baton Rouge could implement an income tax, if they do not already have one. For companies that are able to move, that might push them out of Baton Rouge and into outlying areas, like St. George.

St George didn’t split from anything. Even national news people who are pro St George are dumbasses who don’t know all that happened is an unincorporated area became incorporated.

It’s a weird situation where, if you didn’t know better, you’d believe Broome’s bullshite about “seceding”.

The area has always been called BR without being in it, in part due to the city-parish merger which is only a thing for BR, Laffy, and New Orleans. And BR already had three other municipalities within the parish before this.

The average news talking head isn’t going to bother to read up enough on the situation to get it right and frankly a lot of people down here not in St George either don’t know better or don’t care if it serves their purposes to say that.

Restrictive covenants are illegal.

And part of the reason the demographics are what they are is due to how the parish ratfricked the original petition.

Some minorities didn’t want to be part of it and others were in rental property which allowed the opponents to strike those signatures when people moved between signing and ratification.

Once the city is up and running, areas can apply for annexation if they are in unincorporated BR.

They can’t make up their mind if they want segregation or not. The truth is that they want it, but they want it on THEIR terms. They want to tell YT to frick off and give them their space; when YT tells them we are fricking off and leaving then they get infuriated.

“White flight”, in that white people leaving is fine but their money going is the real issue to them.

Metro council would have to approve and it is in the interests of Zachary, Baker, Central, AND St George not to do this.

He is free to make “blacks only” cities.

He can consult with Jackson, MS, about doing so.
