Men marry down, status wise all the time, and always have. Secretaries, hairdressers, clerks. They don’t care. Men don’t give a shite about your career. That doesn’t factor into why they want to marry. A man’s occupation is VERY important to a woman’s decision. And women marry up or an equal. Almost always. The occasional exception like Liz Taylor being a sugar momma to a construction worker is as rare as a blue moon.

That’s where I disagree, but primarily bc of the circle I live in.

Most of the women I know out earn their husbands.

So like everything else - there isn’t one solid truth or standard that is solely the norm for all people.

Aren’t these still slow release hormones and basically act like oral contraceptives? Also, I think oral contraceptives are widely used.

I once I asked an aunt, why she had said yes to her now husband. She said, well, I didn't like him at first, but I knew he was reliable.

I’d imagine it exists in some career fields, but it has not been my experience - or at least not that I’m aware of.

In my experience its usually something in the middle. Most women like the blue collar guy that can hold down a job, semi-intelligent that can carry a conversation, that also keeps himself in physical and mental shape and treats everybody well. I don't think they are attracted to body builder types after they've dated that.

I've been around the block with a few of the bikini model types in my time. Most of which were single moms. One of the best lines I ever remember was hanging out with a Dallas ex-stripper, 42 at the time, in her apartment all Saturday after some online chats around 2015. I was 36. She had the small waist and the fake exotic looks. "I've been with rich guys and poor guys, but the happiest I've ever been was with poor guys" with tears in her face. She wasn't lying.
