on the back she had hand embroidered a polar bear. I have no idea why she chose a polar bear, but I sure wish I still had that shirt

My grandma gave me a shirt with a picture of a bee on it that read "Bee sweet. Eat your honey" because she thought it was sound nutritional advice.
Grandma's are the best.

It's hard to beat a nice heavy denim shirt. Wear it for a windbreaker, for grinding, cutting, burning and welding. Then when they get faded almost white, they are comfortable as anything.
Your Grandma knew what you needed.
I've got 1 that is my go-to, for the last 7 years or so, I wear it almost everyday.
The label says Canyon Guide Outfitters, made in Bangladesh. It's been top quality though.
Get you one of these and get somebody to put you a polar bear on the back.

My grandmother used to give boxes that were like variety packs. Packs of gum, packs of pens, a lot of random stuff that she found at the Family Dollar. As a kid, it was somewhat comical, but as an adult that would by far be the greatest gift every year.

Long story short I was my grandmother's first grandchild she could spoil and she did. I always got what I asked for so I tempered what I asked for so my sisters wouldn't resent it. Last big present was an ambassador casting rod combo with a boron rod (when that was the coolest thing). Loved that lady more than anything. She's been gone for 40 years and I'm tearing up typing this out now. Damn

When I was about 12 my grandma gave me three live hamsters in a cage. Entertaining as hell but they were the dirtiest, funkiest, nastiest animals you could ever own. My mom spent Christmas day complaining "My own mother did that to me!"
They were smart little frickers, too. They figured out how to open their cage and get loose around the house.

My granny, who drank like a fish, bought me a spuds mackenzie sweatshirt, but had the Bud Light logo removed because she thought I was took young to promote beer.
I wore it to school and got teased because some kids thought it was a knock off version so I never wore it again.

My grandmother got me an alarm clock with a cd player. You can use whatever is on track 1 for the alarm. Two big speakers on the sides. Still have it. One of the best gifts I've ever got

My paran gave me a plain arse green hooded sweatshirt for Christmas when I was 15. I used to wear the shite out of it. Basically any time it was cold and I wasn’t dressing “nice” I was wearing that sweatshirt. Now I’m 42 and I still have it. It’s all faded and the front pocket is slightly ripped. I don’t use it much anymore but I refuse to get rid of it.

My MIL gives me and her other SIL a big bag of stuff she picks up all year long. It’s become a joke when kids are opening presents. But it’s all good quality stuff and I look forward to it every year.

When I was 12 my aunt gave me a pair of pants. 25 years later they still don't fit, but I like to try them on this time of year and laugh with myself in the closet. I'll never get rid of those pants.

Christmas was such an awesome time to be a kid...
We did Christmas eve at my maternal grandmother's and aunt's house for gift exchange, and did Christmas dinner at my paternal grandparent's house. They would put envelopes under your set plate with money, opening those was the best thing ever.

Probably because she knew that a Polar Bear would kick the arse of any other species of bear. And they drink Coca Cola.

I”ve got a denim blue shirt my Grandmother gave me when I was about 8 and it had random things (bike, sun, and my name) on the back. I still have it! Grandmother’s are the best. Wish she was still with us.

My mother hand made a western style denim shirt when I was 12. I wore it so much that wear spots and eventually holes appeared. I felt the love when I looked at it.

It’s pretty sweet that John Fetterman posts on the OT.

I have 50 cent piece that was my Memaw’s. I used to mess with it all the time as a kid. Before she passed she put it in an envelope with my name on it. I keep it on my shelf where I can see it everyday.
