re: Anyone play Lakewood lately?

I’m biased because I’m a a member but if you are close in proximity you should go play Cypress Lakes. The renovations they have done are really coming together. The course is challenging and the greens were just redone late last year. It’s a fair price and I think you would enjoy it. Bring your beer...
Calling BC overpriced is crazy. Without looking, I would think it’s in the 99% tile for full service country clubs in terms of cheapness Only places cheaper would be semi-private or not full country clubs
I agree totally on the cost factor being comparable. I belong to Cypress ...
I don’t think I have seen a single player hit in as short as 282 carry with a driver ever when I am watching.
I agree but this is “Tour” average. There’s a bunch of guys that are playing that never make it to the tv coverage. Guessing their stats are what lowers what we think would...
A person who I think would know told me English Turn was the course discussed but I really don't know if it is correct. Basically just another rumor I guess. Just editing to say I re-read post above stating same thing but with more detail. Maybe it is true....

Fresh crack. Neck pour is definitely soft and silky. Grabbing some nice vanilla oak. A wise man recently told me that the longer it sits the better it gets! This one is definitely a banger. ...

Today I passed on a JD10 and JD12. $85 and $99. I’ve got a ton of bottles and I am a JDBP fan so maybe I should have grabbed the 12? Curious if anyone has these bottle(s) and what’s your review of it/them?...

I got an email today from Rouse’s saying I was selected to have the opportunity to buy a bottle of the Yamazaki 12yr 100th Anniversary bottle for $176. I have no interest in it and really not familiar with the whisky or its value at that price. If anyone is interested in it let me know and if you’re...
This time I didn't lose smell/taste completely,
Glad to hear you are doing well!!! When I caught the Covid back when it first came out I also lost taste and smell COMPLETELY!!! It was the craziest feeling. All I can remember is being nervous I would be one of the few who didn’t ...
Found a Midwinters for $200 and trying to decide if i want to pay $50 more than MSRP for it.
I had read an article a few months ago about MW being mass produced this year and also not being from the same supply as in the past. Basically saying the quality would be less than previou...
Does not stand out in anyway though
This statement got me thinking. Are there any whiskies in general out there that would be considered really good and are tied to a celebrity? To me, everything I’m familiar with that is tied to a fighter, singer, actor, etc. seems to be just bla...
Glad these are in Louisiana now
One of my favorite bottles. What part of Louisiana did you find that? Last bottle I’ve gotten came from Maisano’s in Ocean Springs. Think I paid around 105 for it. Have never seen it closer to me yet but your post gives me hope!...
That stinks. He and the Lincoln Rd guy have great palettes for picking bourbon out.
No doubt! I’m hoping he may be involved still with barrel picks from there. Not sure if the new owners keep the name but it sounds like he has a developed relationship with them so I would think h...
and JD SBBP Rye.
My buddy just grabbed me a bottle of this from Texas at $65. I currently have one and it’s a great rye. I tasted it in a blind to the Special Release Rye with a friend and it didn’t beat it out but it did hold its own. For $65 at 129 proof it’s a steal and a defini...
I think prices and supply are meeting at a point that most people just won’t pay.
I was feeling this same vibe. Yesterday’s $50 bottles are now $80 and previously $80 bottles are now $110. I find myself buying more barrel picks of $55-$70 price ranged bottles. These bottle is the $...
So MND is now $200 a bottle at Total Wine. That being said, i heard the quality has gone down so I am skeptical. However, I have a $150 gift card to Total Wine so the bottle would only be $50+ tax. Is it worth it or should I spend my money elsewhere?
Man that’s disappointing to he...
