Good point. We should just raise everybody's income to adjust for that.

Can you imagine if every parent did that? You'd be sitting in the drop off line until lunch.

Bus drivers work like 3 hours a day 5 days a week. Do you really think that deserves full time pay?

They definitely deserve more to deal with people's shitty kids

Exactly. So dont complain should they quit or strike. Haul your own kids to school and back. Oh by the way, most kids are on a bus an avg of 4 hours a day. Instead of a parent hauling them straight to school and home. Most Kids get on the bus at 5:30-6 am and ride nearly 2 hours on the route before and after school.

Imagine thinking that all kids even have parents at home to bring them.

You are not an intelligent person.

How about Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, sisters, brothers? Other family or friends?

I get it. This is one government program you feel entitled to huh? Kinda like Welfare, foodstamps, section 8, etc. What other gubmint programs do you feel entitled to?

Like I said, you are very unintelligent. For starters, local school board funded and operated bus systems are not entitlement programs. It’s a public service funded by tax dollars and desired by the voters of that jurisdiction.

That’s not most kids though.

I’m not saying it Doesn’t happen but a 2 hour bus ride each way isn’t the norm.

If kids are being bussed from that far in the city, then maybe the solution is neighborhood schools.

Most bus drivers have a second job bc they work 4-6 hours a day 8 months of the year. It was never meant to be a full-time job, and as such doesn't pay like a full-time job. What they do have is excellent benefits from this part-time job.

Bussing is one of the reasons that I promote neighborhood schools. With neighborhood schools we would have much less bussing and we could plow that saved money back into the schools for the students. Do you realize how much money EBR spends each year on running busses ? Less use of busses would also improve the climate and keep Louisiana from being covered by the Gulf of Mexico . Also would lessen the traffic problem.

When you accommodate shitty parents, you get more shitty parents.

Placating those who make no effort, or place little value in education is why our system fricking sucks.
