You've point blank said there's no way for people to keep weight off without pharmaceuticals. That's not true.

which is why it was a big deal when the AACE and the AMA took out position statements that said you should regard obesity as a 'chronic' disease

Are these the same organizations that tell you "high" cholesterol is caused by table salt and red meat?

if you are only running 1-2 miles 3 times a week and lost 15lbs, you had to have changed your diet a little bit.

Not at all. Why would I make that up?

I don’t know man, I could eat fast food and have a 6 pack back in the day, today I’m in the gym every day and if I ate like that I would have a 35 bmi lol

People just need to get active.

Exercise is good but diet is still more efficient then exercise when it comes to weight loss. Most people don’t always have the time to work out several hours a week every week.

You can out diet a sedentary lifestyle. You cannot out exercise an obese diet.

how the frick you let yourself get to the point where you need to lose 100+ lbs.

You don't care or
You hate yourself or
You use food as a coping tool or
You were obese as a child and eating like that is engrained in you

In my case, it is/was all 4.. Which is why I have struggled to get the last 40 or so pounds off after losing 100. I don't hate myself anymore but the others are hard as shite to overcome

Obese patients are almost always sicker and harder to care for. Operating is harder - patient positioning, anatomy is not textbook at all etc.

Why do we glorify obesity if it causes 300,000 deaths per year
Fat people are probably a top 3* reason health care costs are so damn high.

- Fat People
- Living longer
- Lawsuits

I haven’t been as hungry since Covid because I wasn’t doing anything or burning calories. My food intake just went down naturally. I guess some people just continue to plow through food no matter how much they move

Genes and bone structure do play some role though

Terrible excuse. I guarantee most of these people didn’t have grandparents who were ever fat or obese. Especially, great grandparents. Nobody is predisposed to being obese

I think its more about their childhood than it is their genetics. If a kid was raised in front of a TV and iPad he's probably gonna have a tougher time than somebody who let their kids be lil outdoor savages or some shite.

And that is why I am fat. I enjoy it all equally lol.

You know what makes a veggie omelet way more yummy- adding bacon and cheese.

I hear ya, I'm not downplaying the role genetics probably has in it. Pops just turned 60 and up until his back surgery 4 years ago he was in great shape while still eating like a horse.

I'm mid-thirties so it's not like I'm 20 with a crazy metabolism. Also, running in this south louisiana oven around 5 pm blows.

I'm 6'2" and weigh 240, 35 waist 36 length, 50 yo. I'm definitely considered obese by this threads standards. I'm very active and have zero health problems due to weight.
But I do love to fricking eat. I mean I fricking enjoy it. And I'm not talking carrots and celery, I'm talking rice and gravy and meat..All the bad shite. I'm OK with it.
If it takes 5 years off my life, oh well.. I hear the last few years suck anyway.
