Why would anyone donate money to him? I get sociopathic politicians trying to level up, but I will never understand people who throw away thousands every cycle supporting them.

*ETA: apparently this announcement was made in conjunction with Billy Nun dropping out, which changes my initial comments entirely

He's going to jump the General Lee at the big fundraisers.

I agree with you- in what way has Schroder made himself relevant as Treasurer to run for Governor?

Kennedy was able to do it to make a run for Senate, but most average voters have no idea who Schroder is.

Schroder's merits aside, most voters didn't know Mike Foster or John Bel Edwards prior to their run for the governor's office.

That needs to be the finale so he can drive off into the sunset. Ain't no way he's pulling himself out the window to talk to folks.

Foster became relevant when he switched from the Democrat party to the Republican party. His only other competition for republican votes was Abortion Buddy Roemer. The 2 democrats were Cleo(thanks for the cash Eddie) Fields and Mary(its my turn) Landrieu.

I don't think Schroder has any of that Foster vibe and won't get that lucky to have a pro abortion republican to run against.

Kennedy didn't really do anything as Treasurer other than sign his name on checks. Treasurer is a do nothing elected position with very little accountability.

What Kennedy was great at doing was spouting off a bunch of reasonable sounding, but non-sesnsical "solutions" to problems facing the state, and fooling low information folks into thinking he had a handle on things.

Thats my point; Kennedy made himself relevant when his greatest duty was to sign checks.

I think Schroder is most notorius for voting himself a raise after a few months of becoming state rep.

Not sure where you're getting incorrect information, but the base pay for legislators hasn't been raised in 41 years.

I've been away from Louisiana, and LA politics for a while. I know JBE is term limited; is there a decent Democrat in the race this term?

He could also get Superman to help us, having raised him and all.

Edwards' Secretary of Transportation Shawn Wilson, Gravy, Helena Moreno ? None of which are decent.

Think Garrett Graves jumps in or the GOP side? I think he's not a great on the campaign trail
