America with abundant resources and 300 million is doing very well at keeping Europe afloat.

China with 1 billion and roughly the same resources struggles in poverty.

As amazing that it is that the U. S. Has that many people and and tons of supplies for every person, just imagine how China with a billion people has to grow through. It simply mind boggling that America can keep up with demand.

I don't know about yall, but I don't think a woman with 7 kids with 6 different men, who doesn't work and her kids are in the streets by the time they are 10-11 years old is a good way to expand the population. If all 7 of her kids end up having kids then raising them they same way they grew up

that's not who they are encouraging to have more kids

Its the middle class - upper class population who has 1 or 2 kids then stops

If they would have 3-4 then the problem would go away

Peter Zeihan wrote an excellent book about this in relation to the fall of globalism. "The End of the World Is Just the Beginning".

because new couples in their 20’s and early 30’s either can’t afford a nice house, or are straddled with student loan debt.

Priorities are more to blame.

Needing to eat put nearly every day

Needing to get that Women’s Studies, History, or English literature degree

Needing all new baby clothes, toddler clothes, new stroller, toys up the wazoo

Needing the 600k house in the city, where it’s so cool and awesome

I remember when the world was going to be overpopulated. Sounds like good news to me.

This isn't some kind of conservative talking point; it's a mathematical certainty. People need stuff. Stuff requires other people to provide it. If you have too many takers and not enough providers, then buckle your seatbelt.

It is absolutely not a “mathematical certainty.”

Population decline only destroys the economy if the rate of population decline exceeds the rate of per capita GDP growth. In other words, the economic impacts of declining population can be offset by productivity improvements.

To simplify it even more using your explanation - by improving productivity you can make more stuff with fewer people.

I get the whole “only stupid people are breeding” argument.. and it’s mostly true. But the idea of economic collapse strictly due to population decline alone assumes that our productivity remains the same, which is a silly assumption.

I don't think they are getting more money for every kid they have and since there are a lot of poor people, they can't afford to have kids.

Guys are finally wising up. “Marriage, huge house/mortgage, 2.5 babies, no more pussy, cheating spouse and devastating divorce with poverty” isn’t good judgment.

I have trouble believing this as I see far more expanding neighborhoods than I do abandoned ones.

If you want to make a quick chart to demonstrate what is happening in our world just take a blank piece of paper and mark a big "X" in the middle.
From lower left to top right is the birth rate of the peoples.
From the top Left to the lower right illustrates the average I.Q. of the peoples.
Our world is screwed.

Our birth rates are down because our marriage rates are down. Our marriage rates are down for a myriad of reasons, but a really big one is that a lot of men have realized how horrifically slanted divorce and custody courts are towards women.

It doesn't appear the young folks are willing to shoulder the load. Even for themselves.

It may be wise for Gen Z in particular to prioritize job security, as young Americans are among the individuals hardest hit by economic downturns. During 2020, for instance, Gen Z's unemployment rate rose from 8.0% in February 2020 to 26.9% in April, while Gen X's only rose from 2.9% to 11.7%.
