BS! My wife and I both worked. The key, IMO, is that I accepted and enjoyed helping with the boys as well as doing whatever it took to keep the home front stable.

When I married, I never was concerned. I knew if her parents didn't like me I would move out of state, and felt the same if my parents didn't accept her.. We never lived closer than 60 miles to either.
Had a great relationship with both. It's been the same with our daughters in law.

I have raised and ran/hunted beagles for fifty plus years, as a hobby. My wife and I reared two boys, paid for their college education. Engineering and Computer science. They were in soccer and baseball as kids, as well as scouting for a time.
Budgeting time is just a part of life.
