Absolute instant relief. I was in serious pain.
What in the hell causes them to get so bad?

First few weeks you’ll wonder why you did this and think you were better off before.
After that it’s great. Major life improvement.
But those first few weeks bro…. Terrible.

Recovery for me was not fun. Bonus, lost 10 to 15 pounds because I refused to eat. I was so scared of that first bowel movement!

I’ve been putting it off for a couple years.
tried the banding about a dozen times
I ain’t no puss but i am scared of that kind of pain. Maybe later this year...
it’s amazing what you can get used to. Then you remember you don’t have to live like this

There is another surgery called a stapled hemorrhoidopexy that is billed as having a shorter recovery time, if your hemorrhoids haven't gotten too terrible yet.
However I would say whatever recovery time they give you I would double it. Also make sure you got time off work.

I would put recovery time to feeling closer to normal like 3 freaking months imo

Don't really know. It was annoying and one day it flared up to the point I had to go home from work. Had to take about a week off the pain was so bad

Tell the doctor to save them in a jar for you. They make excellent catfish bait.

Epson salt soaks are very helpful.

I’m scheduled for one next week.
I was talking to the surgeon asking him for which state-of-the-art instrumentation he’ll be using. He said just his knives and scalpel.
Also have colonoscopy and endoscopy tomorrow. Trying to empty out before the procedure.
You’re going to have to cleanse back to back weeks.

When I first began working our store manager took a road trip to a place several hundred miles into Mexico. He had terrible hemorrhoids. Had been hospitalized before with them. Anyways, he did this long trip over terrible roads. When he returned he was immediately admitted to the hospital and spent 3 weeks in hospital and 3 months off work. This was a quite a few years ago, I hope the treatments are better now.

It was so bad that at my follow up appointment I thought something had gone horribly wrong. Doc just laughed at me. Apparently shitting flaming hot bleeding coals is totally normal.

The recovery fricking sucks. It feels like you're shitting razor blades every time you have drop a deuce. You'll have to take a bath in room temperature water after each time to help your bunghole heal. Good luck to you

Had one in 2004. It was not a lot of fun. Was on pain meds for several days, but I had to have it done. Ultimately glad I did.

They can’t be that bad if you just can’t put a rubber band around them an let them shrivel up.

If you are used to pegging, you may want to take a break for a while.

I had mine 2 days ago.
Glad that's behind me.

ETA: actually it was just getting one lanced.
I had one lanced and drained that was the size of a marble. Raced motocross the next night. For anyone that doesn’t ride MX, it’s good technique to stand on the pegs rather than sit on a dirt bike, but most of us are lazy and sit most of the time.
That night I had the best technique ever - don’t think my arse touched the seat for two entire races.
