US Women's Open at Pebble Beach crowds. Or lack of..

Watching a little bit of the US Women's Open at my favorite golf course I've played, Pebble Beach, and it's painful to see how small the galleries are.
I guess it'd be a good opportunity for some locals to freely walk and observe the course when otherwise they'd never be able to get on the course.

They actually let the locals walk on the course. Supposedly, it’s a state park or something. The one time I played it, while I was trying to hit my third shot on 18, an Asian couple was walking through the fairway bunker kicking sand.

"The crowd at the U.S. Open...". The public was given very very little tickets to purchase. The great majority went to corporations. Even the players got more tickets than the general public.

No matter how much the legacy golf media try to push women’s golf, very few will watch or go. If Pebble Beach can’t pull in viewers, it’s not going to happen anywhere
