So will the split finally end? what do y'all think?

Like like someone has issues with Catholics in general and it carries over into the athletic arena.

I wonder what the selects will have to agree to for that

Every Catholic School in the state has feeder schools. If you are the only catholic school in the city then all catholic schools will feed to that Catholic high school.
However if there is more than one the the middle schools will be split and feed to a specific one which will be considered Direct feeder schools. the rule was if you came from one of those you would be eligible, if you were not from a direct you would be ineligible. Not all 12 feed directly to Catholic some feed directly to st michaels as well. It is actually no different than the public middle schools who feed to public high schools, they all have direct feeders as well. You cannot put blame on the catholic schools just because they have opened more schools than the baptists. Unfortunetly the people who want to send their kids to a certain private high school need to move within zone are send their kid to that schools feeder school

No its very different. The public feeder schools feed schools within the parish at least. Not Catholic.
Again, it looks like the rule has changed, so the rule I take issue with is one evidently others did as well.
And comparing it to other privates is even ridiculous.
Lets put it this way:
Parkview and Catholic both have 8th grade programs right? Even though there are prob way more at Catholic, for the sake of this argument, lets exclude all those kids.
Now, unless you live in Woodlawn school district, you are ineligible at Parkview for a year. Period. Regardless where you are coming from or where you went to middle (excluding Parkview)
So the new Parkview kids (outside the district) in 9th grade are ALL ineligible.
Now Catholic had a different set of rules. Every single kid from a school within the diocese (but outside the district) is (was) eligible at Catholic day 1. Neighboring parish? No problem.
So the Catholic kids (outside the district, but inside the diocese) are ALL ELIGIBLE
This is clearly different and not sure how its even arguable.
I take no issue with Catholic. I take issue with rules and eligibility being applied differently.

This is 100% not true!! i coach at a catholic school in lafayette and this is not the case at ALL as we have kids from several catholic school who have been Ineligible due to the Schools they attended that were not direct feeders or with in our zone.

Funny how this thread has turned in to a Catholic eligibility thread.
The reason for this latest lawsuit is because open enrollment public schools & charter schools want to be in the same group with the public schools with a defined attendance zone. I am curious what the defined attendance zone public schools think about the open enrollment public schools and charter schools position.

If there is no valid definition of select - possibly - but too many schools want the split now- so look for an emergency meeting

Public schools said those "white Christian private schools" were cheating by legally recruiting players to attend their schools. Schools on both sides of the aisle want in or out of this playoff structure based on their own resources and talent pools.
LOL, You don't think public schools don't cheat? Playing kids that graduated 2 years before at another school, traveling by car to another parish, dopped at friend's house to catch bus to school. (Edgard kids playing at Lutcher, know this for a fact). New Orleans schools get caught cheating daily.

I can fix the LHSAA. Create 5 or 6 total divisions, legalize all recruiting for every school public and private, introduce relegation with the divisions (win 2 titles in row move up a division, miss the playoffs 3 years in a row move down a division) and let it rip.

Sorry this fact offends you.
I have moved nothing. I hate entitlement, and you, sir, entered this thread based on your own sense of self entitlement that YOUR athlete should be able to come let in varsity athletics as a 9th grader in spite of what the rules state. Your child would be eligible in 9th grade if they attend Parkview as an 8th grader of if you moved into the Parkview zone.
High school athletics are not supposed to be a free for all. We have to have rules. You CHOSE to send your child to Parkview. You knew the rules, or should have, beforehand.

It's almost as if someone received the thin envelope from Catholic.

Not true
I went to a Catholic school for K-8 in one parish and a Catholic HS in a neighboring parish - the parish I lived in and was ineligible my freshman year for varsity because I came from a Catholic school in a different parish

If I have to do this, so should Catholic High kids.
Should be the same rules for all.
Catholic High kids dont all attend Catholic in the 8th grade, but then the out of district kids were eligible, through this exemption.
Why should all Parkview kids have to attend in 8th to be eligible and Catholic High kids dont? Catholic has an 8th grade program, right?

Now, how many kids from all those Catholic feeder schools are eligible to compete in varisty in any sport at Catholic
There is one Catholic freshman varsity player this year and he attended 8th grade..they probably only average one or two each year that play football and I can’t think of any that didn’t attend 8th grade.
I bet if you went back 30 years, parkview probably had more freshman playing than catholic in football.
A portion of the kids are in district anyway
There is approximately 15 schools in the diocese and I think 8 or 9 teams this year in the 7/8 division. And at least 1 of those schools isn’t a catholic school. Most schools either combine or opt out of playing the Baton Rouge schools only 2 of which aren’t combined.
The point being… there isn’t some huge feeder system pushing kids to play as freshman or even sophomores at Catholic
