old enough to remember the carlotta street halloween party with the shite dogs

That would be before my time, but I do remember my first Carlotta street party—I'm about fifteen years old and buying beer out of someone's living room window.

So it's no more? I used to know many people that lived on that street and around the corner.

It was still going strong in the mid 90’s. I lived on Chimes, first house behind the restaurant. What a fricking blast that was.

Carlotta was great. Though I threw back to back Halloween parties on Nicholson that both got me arrested.
One of which we had two port o let's and two live bands. I got every couch I could find for weeks and every CRT TV i could find in the trash and had 20 tvs playing horror movies.
Would charge $5 a head for unlimited beer and had Raj at the tiger market bringing multiple fresh kegs.
Good times.

chimes street was chimes street with magoos, plasma lab, head shop, louie's, book store, library and the bayou.

Attended LSU in the mid '80s. My first time buying blow was from a cook at the old Louie's, the only fight I have been in since 8th grade was at The Bayou, the only time I made money selling bodily fluids was at that plasma place, and the only time I ever dropped acid was at The Library, although I did eat the steak sandwich there like eleventeen times one semester.

The funny part about it is I never considered myself part of the Chimes Street area scene and was much more likely to be at Freds, Sports, The Tiger, Shanahans or The Bengal. Although there is a black and white photo of Zachary Richard on the wall of The Chimes that I took at one of his shows back in the day.

The acid and ecstasy flowed pretty freely in some of the yards and houses.

I can vouch for this.

Those were the great, bad ole days. Went three times, and twice I have no idea how or when I got back to my place of residence.

Back then, everybody just wanted to have a good time. These days, there would be fights and gunfire.

Halloween night 2005. We left North Gate Tavern to walk towards Carlotta street. We never made it. We ran across a big house party with the front door wide open so we just walked in uninvited.
